UPDATE-EDIT: Before you read this be aware that I solved my issue shortly after posting!
I had two copies of the older Connect app on my phone
- unaware of the second, I had already deleted the first yet I was getting a conflict with the new MyPorsche app saying I had to remove Connect for some of its sync features to work - lesson learned
. Post left here for any other that might make the same mistake.
I was browsing around familiarizing myself with the endless menus and options and noticed an apparent 'bug' in the (new) MyPorsche App.
First up, I can use all the functions the app provides i.e. I do not seem to have any connection issues in respect my App communicating with my car and the various services provided.
However, when I navigate from the main screen on the App via "Details" to "Functions" and then select "PCM Services", it brings up a screen asking me to "Enable Connection" which in turn brings up a warning dialog stating "Function Blocked" (pic sequence attached).
This appears to be a bug or 'hang-over' from the older Porsche Connect App which I did indeed have on my phone along with the newer MyPorsche App but had since deleted from the phone.
Again, the services seem to be working fine but the newer app appears to think that there is an ongoing conflict with the older app despite it being completely erased from my phone.
Anyone else have this 'feature' and if so any solution to updating/informing the MyPorsche app besides erasing it and having to reload/re-register to see if that clears the confusion?
Or am I reading this incorrectly and the 'error' is advising me to change something in the PCM (all of which seem to be in perfect order!)?
Cheers, C.
1. Click Details here:
2: Click PCM Services
3: Step 2 brings up this page and when i select 'Establish Connection'.....
4: I get this dialog box, which essentially appears to be a bug default dialog when you have both the old and new apps loaded however my old app is deleted - but perhaps not before the conflict was established between the apps? Again though all my services seem to work!
