I know I'm likely stupid but I cant find the setting.

When I turn the car on, the passenger seat heating turns on. I dont think it happens every time. And I can't work out the pattern. But I cant find where to tell it stop.

Where is the setting hidden?

Thanks in advance

I would imagine the precool / Preheat is either turned on in a Timer, or turned on for when you unlock the car.

And from there you can select if / which seats you want on as part of the process.

Try turning the precool / Preheat off on both.

I am still using the old PorschevConnect app.....

The new Android app Preheat section doesnt have temperature or seats in it. Just a slider for Aircon on/off. And I cant find an equivalent setting on the car either. And thts my problem :)

PCM - it is buried in there.

I don't think it's a setting. I also don't think you're stupid. I think this is one of those fun Taycan "features" like randomly disappearing radio favorites.

Sometimes when I get in my car, both seat heaters are on at the middle setting. Sometimes, both are on the lowest setting. Sometimes, they're not on at all. Curiously, they're never on at the highest setting. Likewise, sometimes when I get in my car, the steering wheel heater is already on. Sometimes, it's not.

There's no pattern to when the heating elements will be on or off. It doesn't matter if when I turned the car off they were on or not. It's totally random.

This is different, however, than the pre-heat/pre-cool settings. I use the pre-heat in the mornings and when I leave work in the evenings. With that setting, the steering wheel heater and seat heaters are always on. It's the non-pre-heat times that it's totally random.

Enjoy the thrill of unpredictability.

Do you have preheat on remote door unlocking enabled - sounds like you do which explains this behaviour which varies with ambient temps etc?

After over 2 years with my Taycan, I still see 'random' fluctuations in the settings. My central map will reset a couple times a month. Radio settings will change every few months, as will passenger screen and main screen nav settings. It's the best car I've ever had, but it would be nice if it remembered all your setting preferences and you didn't have to hit a half dozen buttons every time you get in the car.

I was just about to start a thread on this. Same sorts of things happen to me. Most frequently both ventilated seats are on setting '2' - but sometimes it's heat on '2', sometimes on '1'. Yes, I have never remembered them being on the highest setting. Sometimes the PCM is on the screen where you adjust the vents - even though it's been weeks since I manually went to that screen to make any adjustment. It's like a little game - what random thing will happen next.

With the car switching on the PCM loading has bugs. When it loads with Navi, it shows "Ziel suchen". When it loads with second home screen, consumption data are missing.

I suspect, the settings are not lost, they are just not reliably loaded - which equates to the same. Have you tried to reset the PCM, when loaded with lost settings to see, if you could get them back?

I might have answered my own question this morning.

I tihink the passenger seat heats when you select the 'Passenger side air conditioning zone'. Not that this makes any sense, but I have told the car only to use Driver side air conditioning zone and the passenger seat heating didn't turn on this morning.

If thats the case, its just bad labelling in PCM.
