I agree, there are much bigger issues in the world right now than car deliveries. I am not a "prepper", and typically haven't ever worried too much about global chaos, but I actually found myself at this website for 15 minutes today, looking at different scenarios. NUKEMAP by Alex Wellerstein (nuclearsecrecy.com)

I got lucky, and my 4s is sitting in the port in Emden. I'm waiting for the day I go to the dealer to pick it up, and they tell me "remember that 10% over MSRP we quoted you; due to the supply issues it is now 15%, or 20% or higher".

does anyone have any experience with them raising prices like this? After giving a deposit and waiting months for delivery, that would seem extremely unethical….

Actually in the US marine industry that has Happened Q4 of 2021. People ordered new boats in September or October in time for Spring and December 1 the Manufacturer increased all prices even retroactively by 7% for any boats not delivered before the Dec 1 date. This included people that paid for new orders or put down sizable down payments. Granted there are several lawsuits ongoing now so we will see what happens

According to the image, 911 models with CP8 dates up to March 31 will e built, while 911 GT3/Touring models have a CP8 deadline of March 17. 718 models time out on March 14, with the Macan and Panamera set to stop on the 2nd of March, roughly in line with the first official reports of the Leipzig shutdown. Taycans and Cayennes have deadlines set on March 3 and March 7 respectively.

. I think we're safe from the nuclear scenario still...worse case he sets of a tactical nuke i some Ukranian city he just can't seem to conquer but the flip side is he's already got the entire world outside of a few crazy small countries he borders against him and even China is not too down with his go all the way bravado...so even that option would have him and Russia probably cut off for years. Even the oligarchs there like their Bentley's and London flats and Miami Ferraris and Lambos in Rome an Paris. At some point mutual pain likely becomes too great for all to go down with the guy....unfortunately tons of thousands will die and suffer till that happens on both sides.

As for your car tho I think asking 10% more is a small cost to get the delivery completed at this point. Not that I would pay above MSRP significantly...got my 2022 Taycan CT4 last month at MSRP but was lucky and pulled the trigger in am moment of stability vs current world affairs. Good luck and hope your car arrives soon...with its wiring harness intact also! :)

All we are missing is the meteor strike, super volcano, 500ft tidal wave and the flock of velociraptors (who can operate door handles).
Do not speak that into existence....but then again you forgot the Terminators and Judgement Day and SkyNet! :)
It's like rain on your wedding day...
It's a free ride when you're already there...
It's like 10k spoons when all you need is knife...
It's like getting your Taycan somewhere in March, June, 202x...

I'm getting a bit Ironic ;)

A lot of things are happening in this world and I keep telling myself it's a first world problem but still it kinda...
Yes first world problem...the war over there is an ALL world problem as it affects us all if it spreads unfortunately. :(
Yeah, first world problems.
Nice to have but insignificant compared to the rest of the news.
Great post, could not agree more. I am waiting also, however if a tyrant in the Kremlin is deposed, and Ukraine is free wonderful!
Concur...bravo. Wishing it into existence now as are a whole lot or Europeans and others around the world!

Maybe I’m naive, but if there’s a mutually signed purchase contract with the specific agreed price filled in, they can’t say they’re going to charge a further markup or else they won’t sell you the car, can they? Or do dealers still do this based on the assumption that you’ll never sue because it’s too expensive to?

I also wonder because unthinkable in other countries. Price is fixed on contract. Just not delivering the car and sell it to somebody else would kill the brand, and certainly not in Porsche/VW interest, wouldn't it? What is going on?

VW has about 50 parts suppliers in Russia and Ukraine. It will affect all German brands. One big part are complicated cable harness manufactured in Ukraine. Other problems are supply deliveries of parts via trains from China traveling through Russia.

 The few little bugs in my PCM suddenly seem irrelevant!

No sign of that happening in the UK (don’t think would be legal) thankfully though I’m keen to get delivery and finance signed as the cost of money is of course going up very fast.

Mine is fortunately built and at Emden, just hope the logistics aren’t terrible before rates fly up again.

In the EU or at least in my country and Germany -I have an existing order or had in the past-, although the dealer can’t increase the price but the factory can in the time period of order to delivery -according to the contract. Added with the effect of Fx changes (HUF/EUR) HUF lost 7% just in a week that also adding to the price since we pay in HUF according to the factory invoice in EUR.

Hello. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, and I sincerely hope I am wrong, however...

I was called by my Porsche sales guy to tell me that they are not sure what the status is of the two Macan's we have on order are because the Leipzig factory closed yesterday due to the Ukraine situation and 'supply chain issues'. They were supposedly in the body shop on the 23rd, which hopefully means they completed production before the closure, but the online Porsche system is not presenting any reliable information.

He also said the Zuffenhausen factory, which is where the Taycan is made, is closing next week and they have not been told for how long at this stage. I have a MY22 GTS (Neptune Blue) on the ship at the moment, which I am getting from this dealer and selling them my MY22 4S CT (which has arrived in Australia) and had ordered an MY23 GTS (Crayon) from them as well. Looks like I may be keeping the MY22 GTS for a while now.

and now TYD site is down. not looking good.
Only on March 2 Porsche announced Zuffenhausen production would continue. Perhaps they stockpiled a large amount of components, if not as an inflationary hedge.

There is little point speculating until an announcement is made.

However, I was anticipating delays and price increases before the war, now I think it is inevitable. It is what it is. Rather that than be stuck in a warzone.

My CT4 entered production a couple of weeks ago. It was supposed to come out of the factory today. Called the dealer and it is postponed until the 9th of March. They think it shouldn’t be a problem. Lets see next week.

Did anybody in the US get allocations after the news of factory closures?
