Ok I am new to this so hoping for some help! I understand you use the My Porsche app for charging but I cant seem to find an EA charging station when I do a search.
Also, my first charging trip using EA was a mess! The car connected fine but after a few mins the charger would say to unplug. This went on for over an hour bouncing from charger to charger (150 -350). Again I would get a few mins then have to unplug. Any ideas??

You should have immediatly called EA at the charger.

its clunky but i have managed to get it to work.

1. Get to the charger
2. In the app go to the map and there is a filter by station - middle filter - sometimes i have to zoom and wait till the stations show up
3. click on the station and its details show up below (address and button says send to car) - click on the tile (dumb that there is no button for this step, but dont click on send to car button which is a button!)
4. Details of the station show up including the choose plug type.. click a plug type
5. Look at your station ID - 200202-01 is an example - once in there you can click on Start charging (finally a button that is direct to what you want it to do!)
6. NOW go plug in the car from that station! (note - ignore all the status of availability and max power - all wrong)

Its really bad if you dont know the trick.. like how the stations tell you to plug in first which is the opposite of what you need to do with the contract charging.

once you have this flow down it works pretty reliably, just need to ignore all logic :)

Forgive my ignorance here if I am missing something obvious, but

1) Are you not using your free Plug and Charge at EA stations? Also, I assume you have signed up and loaded you CC etc online, correct? The MyPorsche app does not need to be involved at all if you are using PnC - just pull up, plug the charger in and the everything is handled automatically. Does PnC not work in your area (some States are def having issues)? I've used 6 stations across TX to date multiple times with seamless PnC experiences BUT I totally understand that EA stations in other states are no where near as reliable.

And

2) In regard the stations showing up in MyPorsche, is it possible you filtered the map view specifically for EA stations that support PnC (there is an option for this)? This however is a known bug with the app i.e. do not use that filter for EA compatible PnC stations - do this and all stations should be visible (at least this is how it works in Texas!).

Seattle area - i have my credit card setup on porscheusa linked to my account and use EA which should work.. ive never had it just do it even when we drove from LA to Seattle. Ill have to mess around with it again, but the method i use works reliably. The filter is just filtering for charging stations they support. Once i have it charging all the data shows up fine. Ill try to play around with it, but when im charging i just want to start asap!

Well in Texas and I believe in a few other southern states at least, that filter in the App to search for stations that support PnC is definitely not working and a known bug - basically why used nothing shows up and if you turn it off all the stations I have used successfully with PnC are visible!

Def odd that you cannot get the PnC to work - not sure if other have found a solution (lot of related heads here) but I'm guessing you are fully aware and have read.

I’ve only charged at someplace other than my house once. It was simple. I inserted my credit card, plugged in the car, and it charged. No need for apps, or maps, or faps.

And if an EA station you wouldn’t even need to swipe :)

Thank you for your response, everything you explained above makes sense. I pretty much did connect the way you suggested (not at first I had to figure that out) but sadly still had the issue of only charging a few mins at a time then stopping. Could be the stations I hope. Thanks again.
I will also look for that filter as this will help.

Hi, thanks for your response, I am using EA stations only. My at home works perfect but having trouble with EA. Maybe it’s NJ but I do have to use the My Porsche app to get the charger to work (I use the word work loosely in this case).
I will check out he filter you spoke about, I am hoping that will help me find EA stations rather than nothing show up when I use the search bar.

You should have immediatly called EA at the charger.
Hi, I did call and they said everything looked good on there end. Today I took the car back to the dealer and they checked out the car and the setting and said it has to be EA.

Oh the finger pointing:confused:

that is great that YOUR experience was so good however it is totally irrelevant to the OP's question.
have YOU ever used the "free" charging at EA?

when I and many others were finding it impossible to get a charge at EA units we went through the same exercise of finger pointing.
it turns out that there was a conflict caused by the 19.2 onboard charger that was causing the issue. Porsche for months refused to acknowledge that there was an issue and one user here was finally able to get some porsche techs to witness and document the problem. once the problem was identified it was a quick fix. the point that I am trying to make is that it appears that Porsche will always try to not accept blame for the issues that crop up with their software.

Hey thanks for that response, so do I need to take it back for the dealer to fix or is it in the PCM I can do?
