The ‘ Get Out Quick ‘ has already commenced with many dealers listings Taycan for sale .
Have never seen main Porsche dealers advertising cars before they even arrive in the UK.
Very very concerning.

Looking at the prices and the spec of these 3 Taycans on the Sytner website they seem to be priced at least at list price and possibly over list.
Nothing to be concerned about here.

Well, not too surprising, my car delivery moved out another month. It was in production for 12 days before being put into storage - it almost made it to completion but now is stuck.

My delivery date has moved from March to April to May to June and now to the end of July.

I know the world is going through hard times and even worse, is facing a lot of uncertainty, so this is such a trivial thing to even think about, but since this forum is discussing this (for me it is a big distraction to the craziness out there), I am sharing this info.

Not really crazy about the idea of my car being in partial completion status for effectively 3 months. It may be better to just cancel the order and try again later. Really don't know.
Where are you getting these dates from? I’m in about the same state as you - my car was a week into production before the shutdown. They’re still talking about opening the factory back up next week. That very well might not happen, but I’d think any dates being given out now would still reflect that happening. In which case your car would be finished within the week, and then move onto shipping. Shipping is still going on, isn’t it?

i called PCNA today. Gave them my commission number. They said the car won't be done till end of May, then not in US till end of July. They did not give me any other info - I asked for V code, and they didn't have that. I didn't call my dealer to see if the normal schedule I got changed from my June date (I try not to email him too often).

Also, looking at the shipping from last month there was only 1 ship going to Northern California, but there were 6 going to Davisville, so your situation may be differnt.

PCNA also probably has a better view of the tentative shipping schedules moving forward (the PWL site doesn't have a newer schedule up yet). So

Edit: as Ron pointed out, it is PCNA, not PCA. Thanks.

Interesting. Your car sounds like it was only a few days from being finished. So it sounds like they aren’t actually planning on starting up production next week, even though that’s what they’re telling us. Otherwise the car would be done before the end of April.

Could you give me the number for PCA? I guess I’ll call too.

1-800-PORSCHE

It took me two calls, the first person said they needed a different number ending in US20 (which I didn't have), but I called back and the second person was able to get me the info with just the commission number. Let me know how it goes.

I am hoping they gave me some super conservative estimate.

To clarify, you have been contacting PCNA (Porsche Cars North America) not PCA (Porsche Club of America).

Just wanted to clarify for other readers. I too called PCNA and my pre-Covid slipped date of September slipped to early October, but I am ok with that. More time for stock recovery. ;)

I totally agree. @Jdqt458 I often see the Taycans listed by USA dealerships also, they just show MSRP to attract attention. Most would sell the car if a hungry buyer came along. For MSRP I will wait for my config. Especially as no local dealerships have any 4Ss yet anyways.

I contacted one dealer today who had a nicely speced turbo in stock with a listed price. Well, turns out that is there demo unit, but they would be happy to take a deposit. I didn’t appreciate that - they should have said it is not for sale, demo only.

Well Reg, if you can't trust car dealers who can you trust? :D

But seriously, I do generally find much better treatment at Porsche dealerships. I know other dealers that have sold demo cars if they intend to get a replacement soon or they have multiple demos.

Hearing from sources close to Porsche Switzerland that my car (scheduled delivery late March, early April) will most probably not be delivered before June....... :crying: which means it was probably in mid-production at shutdown.... and then it seems Porsche will not re-start Taycan production until early May at the earliest.......

I was told by my UK dealer last week that my car that was originally April/May delivery but had slipped to late June prior to factory shut down is now August (will obviously be later)

The one positive is that in the UK September is when the new number plates are released

These cars are not for sale, they are the dealerships demos that got advertised by mistake.

Well according to chuck it was much more (cost + 5%) and what I equate to be around 15% off not 5k off. Retailer margins are around 20% with targets
I'd be inclined to think dealers will be on less margin for the Taycan because it's a brand new platform that doesn't yield Porsche the profit margins that their traditional ICE ones do. I'd also can't imagine Porsche knowingly allowing their dealerships to heavily discount one of their new flagships..... yet the world was a different place 4 weeks ago, so what might not of been allowed then may be allowed now!

You still keeping yours mate? Not spoke to our dealership to see how many cancellations that they have had. Still not sure what to do as I would imagine I will now be 2021 and the government might pull the EV incentives

Yes with all these bailouts Im sure the Gvt will try to claw back as much as they can from businesses soon after life returns to normality!

I wouldn't be surprised if they withdraw electric car incentives on anything above £50k....
