When washing the car I put my keys in a Faraday pouch which solves the problem of things unintentionally opening or unlocking.
simply just leave keys in the car is not enough?

This isn’t Taycan (or even Porsche specific)….simply need to place the keys somewhere away from the vehicle. Fairly straightforward.

I was on a self-service station… there are four different (pressure) washers… one for/with foam, another with clear water, etc…. If i recall correctly, frunk opened when i was ”touching” (cleaning) with a brush on a stick…but keys in my pocket, i guess too close even if i stand about one meter away.
Pressure and nozzle along with your key being so close might be the issue. I guess my wash setup is different where by I'm able to wash my car in my driveway. I need to correct my self on the nozzle degree I meant to say 40 degree nozzle not 4.0 degree. I'll try washing my care with my key fob in my pocket and see if I have the same issues as you.

Where to put keys when you are on a public (self-service) washing station?

Or, let me rephrase the question: if I sit in the car and some pedestrian will touch the front of my car, does it mean that frunk will open?

In this case, I would go through the menu to deactivate the system.

Am I the only one who thinks it’s not a good idea to high pressure wash your car??

I just lock the car and leave the keys in the house/garage out of range and nothing opens at all.

I didnt want to take the OP down a rabbit hole but I mostly agree with you. While, I wouldnt use a system from a car wash, I have built my own OG style set-up at home. This allows for the benefits/convenience of higher pressure than a garden hose without risking damage to the paint. There are certainly forums for going deep into this but I was biting my tongue a bit.

Using public washing stations does add another variable. I always wash at home, so I just leave my key in the garage.

I think the issue here is that the fob has to be on your person, or not if you are washing the car. That's why a pedestrian touching the car with you in it won't activate the frunk; they aren't in physical contact with the key.

I've never tried it, but I suspect that if the fob is left in the car, your making contact with the car (via the stream of water) won't activate anything.

Well.... define high pressure.
At home, I have something about 2bars ... at those public self-service station, I'd say it's even less.

Then you have to go back to the house for keys when you need to clean mirrors and doors (trunk, frunk)... it looks that leaving keys in cup holder would be the right way...

I hope those of you leaving the keys in the car don’t inadvertently lock it. Now that could be really annoying if you have only 1 key or are not at home

Yep, I get my keys when I’m done washing. Takes me an extra 5-10 secs. It’s what works for me.
