Just confirmed with service advisor. Latest ANA6 full technical details indicate this is the PCM we've been waiting for. Redesigned PCM interface with colored tiles. I'm still waiting for mine to finish. She said it'll take 8-hours to update (2nd on that bonkers comment above).

so much for OTA updates huh? Porsche OTA = bring to dealer and wait 2 days.

I thought I read somewhere, that this will be the last OTA that requires dealer visit, future OTA will actually be OTA updates.

Not sure that's correct as there is a separate update for the PCM enhanced functionality - WNJ8 and was released 25/7 just after the global announcement 22/7.

ANA6 is for flickering screens and seems to be targeted towards US market - safety recall.

@W1NGE There was a PCNA dealer comms email that clarified this as three distinct but related campaigns, all resulting in the full PCM update. (That post has since been deleted here, but is still findable elsewhere). Paraphrasing from that:
  • Campaigns ANA6, WNJ8, and WNK1 are all updates to PCM VR19.0.1.
  • Vehicles are only assigned to one of these campaigns, depending on the current software on the vehicle.
  • WNK1 vehicles have Cluster 37 already installed (colored icons) and only need the remaining update to the full VR19.0.1 suite.
  • WNJ8 and WNK1 vehicles do not have the potential screen flicker issue covered by ANA6.
  • ANA6 vehicles are subject to the black screen / flicker recall.

I noticed it says under the recall info on MyPorsche that a new owners manual is needed due to added functionality from the update. This further reinforces the idea that it is the full PCM update. I have mine scheduled for the 8th so I’m sure we’ll know by then and I can bail if it’s a disaster.

I’m not sure whether the text or the battery status gives me more anxiety.

EDIT

Further info has come to light and so there are 3 campaign paths associated with the PCM updates (and various other things) pertaining to the 22/7 announcement depending on vintage of your vehicle. This includes ANA6 and WNJ8 plus one other.

Please ignore my guesswork below.

EDIT END

ANA6 (NA = North America) is not related. WNJ8 is the global PCM enhancements (W = World).

The screen shot you shared refers to a PCM error. WNJ8 is a feature enhancement.

It could be dealers are attempting both campaigns at the same time.

The NA and W are my own determinations but as ANA6 isn't available in UK but is in US then there may be some logic.

Thank you. I was really just joking about the red battery bar. But my MY22 is not experiencing any of the issues I read about here, and I’m not receiving any recall or update notices.

If you already have the PCM with coloured icons and selectable drive mode in the left hand display of the digital cockpit then you likely have a car shipped with these enhancements and can switch off to the buzz!

I do, and hopefully you all soon will also enjoy this setup. Overall, it is pretty good

I've been waiting to take delivery of my car for about 2 months. I finally took delivery today.

The dealer performed the ANA6 update over the past few days. I can confirm that it included the new PCM update. I spoke with my friend who is a tech at the same dealer where I took delivery and he confirmed that the software package they download for the ANA6 update includes the PCM update and that it was not done separately. Just FYI for those waiting, it seems you'll get the new PCM with your ANA6 update. Also, I have the color icons, so I confirmed it's the new PCM update.
When was you car built? Also, does it seem to have Spotify integration?

I wish others would read this. ANA6 is not separate from the upgrade. It is a different version of the upgrade that also addresses the recall. ANA6 cars will also be upgraded to VR19.0.1 as part of the package. You can't apply ANA6 and not upgrade to VR19.0.1.

When you attempt to update the car on the PIWIS, is will only allow you to choose software that Porsche determines the car is eligible for. You can not attempt to apply more than one of the three VR19.0.1 uPdates in the system.
