Stupid question. Would my updates icon in my PCM tell me if I needed the new update? I picked my new RWD up last Wednesday. Was assured all updates had been installed. Mine is a MY22.

I noticed it immediately on the Turbo. I’d guess something like 10% improvement on highway, but need to put more miles and get real data to quantify
Thanks for the reply

No, but logging into my.porsche.com would tell you. It's in a red recall notice if you need it.

Likely that your car is new enough not to.

Question for those of you with a 2020 that had this update done (or if anyone just knows the answer): the official Porsche documentation says "Better availability of the plug-and-charge function". What does that mean? Will I now have the ability to plug-and-charge with my 2020?

I think the recall notice might only be for US customers. In Norway we got a separate email, with no notification in either app or website. Perhaps someone that has the update could post a screenshot of the new version information in the PCM?

There is nothing on my app. No notices at all.

(As I understand it) yes, but only if you upgrade to the 19.2kW charger.

From the Porsche announcement :

The 22 kW onboard charger has now also recently become available for retrofitting1. Customers can combine this retrofit at their own expense with a workshop visit for the software update. With up to 22 kW of charging capacity, the more powerful variant charges the battery significantly faster. In Europe and North America, the retrofit also includes activation of the Plug & Charge function. This enables convenient charging and payment without a card or app. As soon as the charging cable is plugged in, the Taycan establishes encrypted communication with the Plug & Charge-compatible charging station. The charging and payment processes then start automatically.

Has anyone seen this new all wheel drive menu in the center screen?

Yep, hit the vehicle button and then go to the “trip” tab.

I got mine back earlier today and so far so good. I'm gonna take my time on my way home to do a factory reset and set everything up from scratch again for good measure.

Service advisor and myself were surprised it only took them 2-3 hours. It's a January 2022 car, didn't have the coloured icons yet but I guess there were few other modules to update. The other Taycans they had over so far took way longer.

It's also only slightly more responsive, so I assume even early 2022s and probably some 2021s already had a bunch of improvements baked in.

Noone is really talking about the range or charging improvement so I'm assuming they are not very noticable.

I haven't gone on a road trip yet since the software update on my 2020 TTS. I am noticing better consumption during the regular drives to work. Used to be 33-34kw/100 miles on average and today noticed it to be 28.8kw/100 miles! Curious if anyone else is seeing better consumption?
