Thanks. I forgot about my V-1 Gen 2 off the mirror! I usually take the V-1 out of the car on my prior cars when in for service, but was going to leave the Blackvue to see what it records.

My car is going in for the software update. I have a Blackvue Dashcam hardwired in the passenger footwell fuse box. Has anyone with a dash cam disconnected it before it went or any issue for having one when going in for the software update?

Some dealers will insist on disabling a dashcam before taking a car in for service. Here in NY, I’ve had that comment from three different dealers. (Not all Porsche.)

I just experienced a frozen PCM screen which was stuck on the pulsating Porsche lettering. Both on the main screen and the passenger screen. Rebooting into engineering mode didn’t resolve the issue. Went away overnight. I thought all of this nonsense was behind us. How do you check the software version on the PCM so that I can verify I have the latest and greatest? And which version is the latest and greatest for the USA?

Guess they do not want you seeing what is going on when in service My son's BMW 135i was in for service when he was in HS and USAA had a little GPS tracker to let you know of speeding and stuff (back in 2015). I start getting alerts while it is at the dealer. Technician took it on a little joy ride doing 80 in a 45 etc. They had no idea it had the device.

I am going to leave it installed and see what they say. My bigger concern was it causing an issue with the update. At worst, they can unplug it.

I normally leave mine plugged in but since this was the big uPdate, I removed mine just in case it might cause an interference. Wish I could have left it there just in case the tech wanted to go for a joyride or race someone on a freeway.

Let me know if you find the power distribution display as so far I've failed and it's MIA nor is it where Porsche states (central display).

It was on a far left tube.

Yes, it takes a while to start playing even with me.

Ok, thanks. I’m comparing to my BMW and the BMW starts playing the music as soon as I’m starting the car.

Left tube.- change display to AWD if you had a T4 or above.

The new display is probably available on all Taycans.
