I am awaiting CT4 Carrera White delivery and thinking about doing full Xpel Stealth PPF. Anyone done this? Would love to see some pictures!

It's Carrara White though...
I've only done the front + coating.
I don't think doing the whole car is sensible.

This is my first Porsche, I am coming from a Tesla world. On several model Xs I owned, I've always done FULL PPF and NEVER regretted it. It actually paid for itself several times. I was side swiped once on a front and once on a back bumper and the paint/scrapes from the other car just washed away with a simple sponge. Otherwise, this would have been paint damage and expensive repairs of my car. I am not even talking about dozens of door dings PPF saved me from. Just to clarify, this is not a vinyl wrap which falls apart in 2 years. This is self-healing XPEL with 10 year guarantee.

Another advantage is that you never have to wax your car, $10 car washes and that is it. I have seen several wrapped white Teslas and they look amazing- it makes the paint frozen white. Would love to see some pictures of the Taycan.

Love my Xpel stealth PPF, but I don’t think car washes are actually ok. I hand wash once a month.

I should have clarified that I meant touchless car washes. My installer told me that touchless is okay. My 2018 MX's Xpel Stealth wrap looks brand new at almost 5 years old.

So the high pressure water jets at the car wash haven’t made the film begin to peel off? I’m just having PPF installed and I’m new to this whole PPF game.

I’m too cautious to roll the dice with high pressure in a touchless, but if you’ve found a place that historically hasn’t harmed your wrap then more power to you brother. I’m all about the hand wash two bucket method.

The way that touch less works is that they use fairly harsh chemicals instead of brushes to get the dirt off the paint. If you are really particular about exterior finishes, this is something to avoid. A great installer will tuck the seams to make them less likely to peel, but the harsh chemicals will have an impact over time whether you have ceramic or not.

Standard black and Xpel stealth
Nice. I've got a jet black metallic on the way and I'm debating between xpel stealth, prestige satin guard and suntek ultra matte.

Did you have any others you were considering before you chose Xpel?

I really wanted a matte/satin finish. 3M and Suntek were both considered but really it came to which was the best local PPF installer and what they used. To me it’s really more about the installer than the product.
