You can always defer the decision.

As you'll have seen there are disclaimers on the configurator highlighting supply issues and delays. Previously, short supply items were still selectable which was pretty poor but now most if not all should be 'hidden' where the option is no longer available.

Have you read the thread on the standard audio or better still gone and had a listen - it may be that it is perfectly acceptable?

Mission E + the forced selection of PSCB is a really expensive option and particularly on a base model (appreciate personal choice here) but there other arguably nicer wheels (Turbo / Spyder) which shouldn't be overlooked.
Thank you so much for this. I've heard the standard audio at a showroom and it wasn't acceptable. I'l certainly have a look at other wheel options. It was the wheels painted in exterior colour that really did it for me. Oh well. I have 2 weeks to decide.

In fact for RWD there are option limitations like this. 4S and up all these options are still available. Recently.
This is the way now how to solve the shortage of some options (parts). If things getting worse next level is 4S an so on...
There is nothing to do with it, base cars will be always at the end of the line.

I don't think you can get Mission E wheels with the base brakes, but you can with PCCBs. I know that is more expensive, but if PSCBs are not available, you could consider PCCBs. I like mine a lot. Stops like the hand of God. No dust. No rust. Much lighter than the other options as well.

I have a CT4S just finished production. There was a question mark over Bose and, I believe, the electric steering column as well. Someone on here from Belgium posted their 4S was recently produced and fitted with Bose and the column so, who knows?

I’m waiting for confirmation from my SA and/or My Porsche to see what the car definitely has. Not ideal but, this has become something of the norm alas.
That was me, somehow it shows the Belgium flag, but I live in the Netherlands. Regardless, it's Europe :)
But yes, my CT4S was produced last week and I pick it up tomorrow 9 December in Germany. I have quite a long list of specs, also included the black roof rails, Bose etc.
All 36 options are included in the build, so it seems periodically shortages happen, hard to foresee, but also cars come out of production without any issues. Only known during or just before production I reckon as suppliers may have just delivered in time in certain cases. The Bose exclusion for the base CT and the RWD was known for a while, any SA should have advised in advance.

The electric steering column adjustment is on my build sheet as well, so this one seems to be back generally.

Fingers crossed that everyone gets the build according to their specs.

Thanks for the confirmation and it’ll be interesting to see if my car also comes with the electric column as the build was completed on 3rd December. Apologies for being a bit lazy and not taking the time to quote you properly.

No worries at all, we are all here to support each other. Just hope all goes smooth for everyone. The wait is "killing" at times, just hope the landing for all of us will be smooth.

I found things can change quickly, from potentially losing options due to supply chain issues, to suddenly no issues whatsoever.
Fingers crossed for everyone.

I'l speak to the opc and see if this can be done. If it can... That still leaves me without bose and burmester.

Adding Mission E + ceramics is just a nuts idea IMHO - wasted on a RWD and a cosmetic expense (physical brakes aren't used that much - the electric motor does the breaking).

Perhaps consider a 4S then if you can get Bose still

This is very true. Even the bose option is not available on the 4s

Hi Adrian,

I'm not sure I understand this response.

My regenerative braking is almost never on. My car in fact feels like it has absolutely normal drivetrain when it comes to braking, and I use my brakes a lot. With such a heavy car, it feels absolutely fantastic to have very strong brakes like the PCCBs. Do I need it always? No. Are the base brakes bad, no.

Also keep in mind that the PCCBs are approximately half the weight of the base brakes (and the PSCBs are even heavier than the base brakes), and the unsprung weight savings help with so many aspects of handling and ride quality. I once read an article from Porsche saying that 1 lb of unsprung weight savings is the equivalent of saving 6-7 lbs from the total weight of the car (i.e., "sprung" weight haha) from a performance perspective. Now, of course, could the average driver tell the difference unless they drove one right after the other? Maybe not. But I don't think it's entirely fair to say that PCCBs are useless because you don't use brakes or it is just cosmetic.

Now, whether it is "worth" the extra cost depends upon each of us. I do know that I personally would never go for PSCBs. You have to pay almost half of the cost of the PCCBs to get the PSCBs, and PSCBs weigh even more than the base brakes. So, I personally would go for base brakes without possibility for 21" rims or go straight for the PCCBs.

Of course my opinion is worth as much as I was paid for it, but I personally am very happy that I opted for PCCBs, and it wasn't solely for cosmetics and I do indeed use them on a daily basis. No brake dust or rust is merely a bonus.

I mentioned recently to my dealer – who's also my countries importer as there is only one Porsche Centre – that I was surprised that my car made every one of its estimated dates and arrived at the dealership on the very day it was scheduled to 8 months earlier.

The answer I got? Because its a "Turbo S". Porsche is prioritising deliveries and component options by variant – probably because there is a lot of easy profit built into Turbo S, etc.

If true – it stands to reason that base RWD Taycan customers are going to experience the most disruption to delivery, components and options. Sucks as there is nothing cheap or affordable about any Taycan!

Whatever about wheels and brakes – I don't think I could accept base audio.

But maybe – with supply chains as they are – now isn't the best time to order highly customised RWD.
