Can you switch to a RWD /standard battery to trim the costs - I hear they are still excellent?

That's my back up plan anyway!
I started with a RWD and PB+ and it was the relatively small increase per month which made the 4S the easy choice. Not sure I'd want to step back in spec/model now if there was an issue later. I've one too many extras which could be cut worst case.

also no idea if an allocation for a 4s, for example could be transferred to a different model as availability varies between models

sorry to read that., after waiting so that's a pain indeed!

did you say Lex increase including the expected P11D changes was ~£200/month more?
was that gross before tax savings etc from Sal Sac?

Will keep you in the tracker as the dates you had till now were still valid and good reference
No worries, keep an eye on the Synergy website, it will appear on there, they are still ordering the car as someone else will snap it up.

I suppose we are all exposed to this risk given the increasing costs of finance and the long wait times.

I will be checking my Octopus paperwork to see how long they honour the quote, they did warn me that if Porsche increase pricing I'd have to pay that but do not think the financing cost could be increased.

Absolutely gutting for you!!!!
The finance cost increase happened to my wife as well. We ordered her a Disco Sport May 2021, delivered Dec 2022 and once it was ready for delivery were the price is going up in line with the cost of finance.

yes, can imagine a few more orders heading the same way unfortunately.

only saving grace is that my car isn't due for such a long time still that we're hopefully over the hump of rate rises by then!
Synergy are getting a lot of cancellations due to this, with this car there is usually someone waiting in the wings to take it on.
They also said, the quote they've given me now still isn't likely the price I will pay, it will be reviewed when the car is ready for delivery. Now they do think it will come down but we're only talking £10/£20 per month.

Not sure this would've been an option due to allocations on vehicle type.

The full story is:
Original quote = £1055 per month (Net cost including BIK £672 per month)
New quote = £1284 per month (Net cost including BIK £808 per month).
This is 4 years, including full maintenance & no quibble tyre replacement.

I did change colour from Volcano Grey to Crayon & the cost of the car increased, total increase on original price was £3909, the increase in repayments is near on 11k gross, £6.5k net.
Even though Sal Sac is a great deal I just feel I'm being ripped off here.

Anyway, Synergy had a new Merc EQC AMG Line premium in Graphite Grey in stock. £876 per month gross, full maintenance & no quibble tyres & works out around £555 net and that's what I have now gone for and will have it in a couple weeks.

P11D on that is £79k
P11D on the Taycan I had was just short of £94k
The difference in repayments just doesn't stack up for Taycan for me on this basis, I just honestly felt like I was getting f..... over on the Taycan with that last quote.

Here I am posting at 5am in the morning, I'm not going to lie, I'm disappointed and it's playing on my mind.
I kept telling myself, my current car which I bought with cash has depreciated £40k in the five years I've had it, costs more to run than the Taycan would've done & I should still go for it as comparatively it'll cost me less, I've got a pay rise coming that would cover the extra cost... Anyway, I've cancelled & got something else so that's that :D

Enjoy the Merc - let's be honest, it's not a bad alternative in the scheme of things. Next time for the Taycan.

Thanks for the detail, merc will be great and at that price is super value!

my monthly costs are in line with your revised taycan costs so I’d say typical market rates at the moment via SS but that is a big increase and I would have done the same as you!

At least with the merc you will be able to drive a lot further on one charge!!!!!!

good luck

It seems a decent price so I was happy (ish) to go with it.
I've been waiting 18 months for an electric car. Originally order a Q4 to be sensible in Aug 21 but then came to my senses in Jan 22 and cancelled and went Taycan. Now I am where I am with they Taycan, the Merc was available so I had to go with it as I wasn't prepared to wait any longer for an EV.
I'm already plotting my way out of the lease at the half way stage and if finance rates are still high will look to the Sport Turismo.

I don't think the range is better on the Merc, 80kw battery vs the 93kw in the CT, similar weights but it is what it is.

I hope you all get and enjoy your cars.

Ordered CT4S in Dec 2021 with Lex who are sourcing from Porsche Wolverhampto. After quite a lot of waiting finally got a firm build slot in January 23 and build in March 23 with delivery late March early April.

Congrats!

Is that in line with the dealers estimated delivery timescales?

Were you expecting it or do these things come out of the blue?

It was a long road the original date of delivery was Nov22 then Dec 22 then Jan 23 then May 23. When I got the confirmation of build slot that was the only point that I thought it’s on! I got told Bose was not available and then just before locking it became available. Lex were awful but the Porsche dealer was good at responding to my queries. I don’t think this is on the tracker…

Great news. Would be good to get more data into the tracker.. especially from those who have more than just a 'random' date from the lease provider!

Jin,

You can remove mine if you like? I'm no longer taking delivery due to the price hike I've been given on the lease.
Sorry to hear that.

I asked my Salary Sacrifice guy (Love Electric, who use Lex) what happens with increasing interest rates etc..

I asked this specific question (on the 30th November):

Can Lex offer some kind of re-assurance that the interest rate and residual value will be matched back on the condition that I do not change the spec of the car (other than a non-cost option colour change - I want to switch from Grey to Green). If the price of the car changes via Porsche, or a model year change ticks around again then this will not affect the ability to use the agreed interest rate and relative residual value.

I was given this response.

I do hope this was correct, but given what you're saying it may not be!

Hi. I‘m with Lex, and currently in the queue for CT4S. I asked exactly the same question and got the same answer. ie They honour their prices and just pass over any porsche increase costs. That said, my contact did say that should the model year change by the time my allocation becomes available then that would be a re-quote. I placed my order in Dec and following this news I looked to cancel and change spec to 4 (giving me a better cash buffer for any increase), but Lex had increased there costs quite dramatically over the new year so at this time the 4 was barely cheaper than the 4S So I just stuck with it. I know a couple of people whom ordered the GT etron at the same time as me and get them next month. Whilst envious in the short term I know the Taycan (for me anyway) will make me smile more. I just fear in 9 months time there is still a chance a price increase or delay could mean I still don’t get one…
