What kind of trade in value did you get? Was it what you expected? Im considering trading mine in and getting a 997/991 and a daily suv.

Yes, if it's on the window sticker it's part of the car. Expect to be charged if you don't.

As a counter point (and just to hijack the thread) mine has been rock solid charging at 100% - no heating etc. On a recent trip to the middle of nowhere, I used it to trickle-charge for 10-14hrs at a time, with the charger out in the elements (a mix of rain and snow, temps dropping well below freezing) - no issues.. I wouldn't leave on a trip without it.
Porsche EVSE is massive - both large and heavy. Is also has the bare minimum spec of the wire, leading to wires and plug heating up (perhaps not a big deal, or even a nice side effect in the winter, especially given recent temperatures in the NW). Compare against a 40A Tesla Mobile Connector, small, light, reliable (I have one which has charged my car for almost a decade now, plugged into a cheap NEMA 14-50 socket too - no melting), costs. $200. I have been charging the Taycan with it too recently as I still have the Tesla in the garage all cleaned ready to sell, so Taycan doesn't have its permanent space in the garage yet (where an 80A charger is ready for it). I actually plan to use a Tesla Mobile Connector to carry with me in the Taycan, with the TeslaTap adapter - together they still weigh a fraction and take up less space than PMC+ which came with the Taycan, which is still in the bag, I don't really have plans to unpack it.

PS> I picked up a used PMCC, but purely for research (want to snoop the PLC connection to the car). I would actually not feel comfortable having either PMC+ or PMCC plugged into a low quality NEMA 14-50 and charging at 40A unattended for 8 hrs, especially in the summer temperatures.

Oh, we should talk. I’ve spent _ages_ trying to get the stupid PMC+ to connect reliably over PLC. I’ve gathered a lot of data and was planning on a more detailed post (maybe I’ll do that after you post your trip report ?). The tl;dr is that, just like the charger itself, the connectivity aspect is a half-assed afterthought for the US market. I guess they needed to withhold the $0.30 WiFi chip for better differentiation from the PMCC. If/when, once in 30 attempts, the web app does load, you get to see the last 3 charging sessions - and that’s about it. Oh, and it has an internal temperature measurement.

For home charging I’ve settled on an Autel (Wi-Fi, BT, and Ethernet, supports OCPP to cover all my tinkering needs). I see no reason to buy yet another one for the road - the PMC+ will do fine on the road/in a campground with RV outlets.

After the heater failure and 4 weeks to wait for the part - I traded it in for a M8. Miss the car and hate going to gas stations now.. but anyways, when my car was 'appraised' for trade in, the charger was not in the car.. and now that it has made it to the Porsche dealer (The one I bought it from) he wants the charger (Both BMW and Porsche dealers are the same - and neighbours).. should I be returning the charger?
Asking if you should give it back says a lot about YOU

This is a moral argument.

The whole "it's on the window sticker" isn't relevant. It was a used car trade in that was valued at the time of appraisal. If it were a formal repurchase, Porsche would inventory the car for original equipment and you would be dinged accordingly against the Monroney. If they noted it during the appraisal and then it slipped through the cracks..it's shady of you to keep it. I would hope they charge you.

If you took a bath on your trade in and they weren't kind during the experience, I can understand some reservations in doing the 'right thing'. Still, its a basic charger, that really should go to it's new home.

Here you go: trip report ?

I was actually referring to snooping the ISO 15118 PLC communications between the PMCC and the car (PMC+ does not do that AFAIK), but still interested to hear how you actually got the PMC+ to work over PLC to the internet.

Yea, I am not as confident in the PMC+, unless you're planning on using it at 20A. I would be worried that even the RV parks do not have plugs which can handle 8hrs at 40A with PMC+ temperature profile. Melting the outlet is the more likely scenario, but a fire is not out of the question, especially when traveling in dry, hot weather, to RV park in wooded areas. That and the PMC+ takes up way too much room in the car. But that's just me. I already have a spare Tesla Mobile Connector, with a slew of adapters, so of course I would opt for a smaller, lighter solution I already have (I have the Tesla Tap already too).

Afaik, problems are in the States only, overheating cables at 40Ampers.
Otherwise, mine works without any problems at 32A (400V), providing max 22kwh.

Personally I don’t like the attitude. Of course you give it back, it comes with the car. Why mess with the next lucky owner.

Agreed and moreover the charger is complete junk so why would you want to keep it?
