Probably because of the cold weather.
I only get 160/170 range for my 4S at the moment (without performance battery).
Hopefully get closer to 200 and above in the summer.

Coming from a Tesla M3P the weather plays a huge part in the range. Cold and wet weather makes a huge difference (especially the cold)
Full charge in the recent minus temperatures gave me 190 - 200 miles tops. Summer, in 30 degrees + I used to get 320 miles.

Taycans have bad range for what they cost. It's true. Personally it doesn't makes issues for me because I don't routinely drive even 100 miles round trip in a single day (San Jose to SF and back) - maybe i do a road trip 2x a year.

porsche does need to find some extra range or increased efficiency in range mode for the next gen. going long distance i'm routinely a lot closer to 200 miles than 300 and that's pretty sad considering what Tesla and Lucid are currently doing on their flagships.

Some reference data from my CT 4S with PB+ and 21" wheels, Pirelli Perf tires. I too would not have expected anything dramatic in respect increased range with the GTS - my summer-winter variation likely more in colder climates like the UK i.e. expect a bigger differential.

My latest AC charge data also indicates a mere 8 mile difference between 'predicted' Range mode vs Normal mode ranges (all with AC off) - this expected to some degree post uPdate software install.

Have just taken delivery of my new 23 plate GTS Sport Turismo. My main reason for switching from my Taycan Turbo was the prospect of close to 300 miles range, meaning I could get to Cornwall in one go from Oxfordshire without the lottery that is Collumpton Services.
Massively disappointed to see a range of 197 miles, which is 30 miles LESS than the Turbo it replaces. Porsche dealer worse than useless as normal. Does anybody have any suggestions/know of upcoming software upgrades?

Had my gts st 10 days and clocked nearly 500 miles in it, consumption very poor currently, but I remember my 4s being the same in early weeks.
I’d expect 230/240 in the summer, 200 max currently.

The range from 100% charged in my GTS upon collection on Friday said 52 miles. It’s risen. I just expect that like an ICE car it’ll continue to creep up as I drive it. If you’ve just collected yours surely it’ll be a similar story, no?

52 miles range at 100% charge. It only had 3 miles on the clock. By the time I'd driven it home it was showing around 200 miles at 97%.

WLTP numbers are a fiction. About as real world as Harry Potter. There should be a sticky on this forum entitled ‘So You Think Your Taycan Should Do 300 Miles?’

WLTP simulation has nothing to do with real life (see below WLTC): an average speed of 33mph...
It just helps car makers to show an (unreal) autonomy that won’t scare potential buyers.

They should instead show the autonomy from 85% to 10% on 3 cycles: town, roads at 90km/h (55mph) and highway at 130km/h (80mph).

there is no miracle at highway speed: bigger battery combined with improved aerodynamics (and small wheels).

But that is not Porsche DNA. They would be wrong trying to compete with Mercedes or Lucid on these grounds.

Exactly! If you’ve chosen the Taycan with range as a priority, then you’ve bought the wrong car.

Look guys I’m not trying to be abrasive but the reality is that our cars were designed a while ago and the market has moved forward in terms of having lots of high performance and long range EV’s. Tesla Plaid and Lucid Air are on 19, 20, and 21 in rims just like our cars and the Taycan has around the same coefficient of drag even with our superior design. Similar pack size too, at least not 1:1 commensurate with the range increase

Those are bs excuses for some of the shortcomings of our cars, in my view. Yes, range is not the absolute top priority and shouldn’t be, but it’s a fact that only going a touch over 220 miles on a charge is not going to be viable as a product spec come 2025-6 when the 2nd gen launches when Tesla and Lucid and Mercedes are all well over 300 miles. And yes - that is the competition for our cars and the right comparison.

Can I just ask, am I being weird by having the AC off 95% of the time? I only ever have it on during the four days of summer we get in the UK... I never use it in the cold??

My dad always does the same on his Model S. For years my sister just thought Teslas had crap AC instead of it being something my dad did to incresse
