I will probably just have to wait till April 17th to learn there will be another month or two for my car to be delivered.
Interesting to compare our timings and see how they change (or align?)
Mine is bound for FL as it is going to PEC Atlanta, so different boats for sure.
@stonecold926 Any news on your Taycan? Did it get on a boat? Mine did in advance of the TYD projected dates and is currently somewhere in the Mid-Atlantic.

Now showing a 3 week hold from arrival at port to en route to PEC. I have no way of knowing if that 3 week gap is a place holder for port processing/delays or if they will be installing a heater in that time. Either way if these dates hold true my timing just moved up a week and a half from 5/5 to 4/26 which surprised me given all the discussion of delays in this thread.

@Jenner nope. nothing updated on my TYD. Delivery date remains the same as 4/17; however my SA told me it shows 4/21 on his Porsche tracking system. I am completely in the dark at this point.

There are only two VW shipments heading to San Diego in March. If my car didn't make it on the 3/13 one like yours did, the next one won't arrive till 4/29. So, yah, no idea what is going on.

I mean to each their own. 50% of people who took their cars in 2022 had to wait months for their cars in port waiting for a 12V battery and they're all mostly happy campers. People buy new cars all the time that sit on dealer lots for months before they get sold. But if you're insistent on a super-fresh brand new car from the factory and are willing to wait another 6 months and pay more $$$ to do so, thats on you.

Also for anyone just tuning in, the name of this thread is misleading. Porsche is NOT holding all cars at port. Check the March deliveries thread, many people are taking delivery of their cars "on schedule" with little to no changes to TYD. Clearly only a select group of cars are being held, but certainly not all.
At Porsche prices I don’t want a car standing for 6 months. This would at least flat spot the tyres. At worst damage the cars batteries. Plus I could place a new order to an available allocation for a May delivery. I know of one already available so why would anyone in their right mind wait and accept a car parked in a field for 6 months.

My TYD just updated to Stage 02 with a date of March 10 (was March 28 set 4 weeks ago), although today is March 20. Is this how they keep up dreaming, backwards... I wonder if anyone can comment if that means I will get it sooner, although other stage dates did not update such as Stage 04 shown.

We don't get TYD in Europe but my MyPorsche App shows at Stage 3 as though my car is not finished yet but I know it is. Also my SA says the delivery date in the Porsche Order System is 3rd March and at the moment we are not sure where the car is.

I just have to ask, and I apologize if you've mentioned it before, but why did your order take 8 months to freeze? My allocation became available Dec. 3 so that's what my step 1 shows, but we didn't go in and do the full test drive and build and deposit until Dec. 16 or so, and the freeze was supposed to be Jan. 3, but then ended up 1/18 on TYD. I just don't get why some freeze dates get pushed out so far from when they're apparently ready to take the order, but mine was about 30 days give or take. And you're in my midwestern neck of the woods too. I know, just more questions about the mysteries of Porsche... And I'm only just beginning.

I know my GTS and one other is on a boat in the mid-Atlantic, on its way to Benicia CA. Build started Feb 8, finished Feb 13, got to Emden Feb 15, sat there for a month, left March 14. No idea if it will get stuck at US port on arrival...

Also, to give you some insight, as I made notes in my calendar about the previous dates, I did notice later dates not changing as much. It's like this big leeway window they leave. They would push something current out 7 days, and sometimes the next step would move 7 days too, and then if there was enough "room" it wouldn't. In the end, looking over my notes, most steps averaged a 3 day jump back and forth, which I guess I'll call a margin of error?

If I had to take a guess, I'd say your step 4 will start sooner than 4/16, but who knows when they'll update the site. This is provided there's no sudden production holds, of course.

For a point of reference, our order took five months to freeze.

Hi @annieland, happy to share what's going on with me. I placed the order actually in May of 2022, then on 8/21 this is when they were able to enter my order in. I got my allocation on 1/5 with freeze point of 2/17 that got bumped almost right away to 3/28 and now updated to 3/10. I have no idea what that means so was wondering how similar it is to others who got their allocations in Dec/Jan time frame.

to wrap my story up. I am a Belgium costumer and ordered a taycan RWD in June 2022. Production was confirmed in 28th february till 03March. that period was confirmed twice by the garage. after no mail that my car was produced i called the salesman and he said production was halted but that there was a VIN number. One week after that he stated the car was produced and on the factory parking without the heater. He said delivery will shift a few weeks but from what i read this could become months. I am not happy on taking a car which sat on the parking for months. what are our rights in such a case? can we cancel? there is no stock so taking another one is not an option....swap to an ICE car? just wondering...i had a cayenne coupe before and all that went smooth but this experience is becoming a nightmare...in the meantime i am renting a car as it was promised to be delivered end March...

I'm in exactly the same position. I have said to my dealer I will not accept a car that as been standing for months. I believe in this instance I have the right to cancel the order. He has said to give him till the end of the week to try and resolve it with Porsche France. Of course I know I will not get this car and that it will be months more of waiting. I am currently looking for another allocation or considering buying a used Taycan.

I suggest you do the same and tell your dealer you are cancelling your order but maybe give them time to try and resolve. The Porsche factory don't really care as every car they make is already sold to the dealers. If you don't have it someone else will.

I agree but on the other hand second hand market could be affected with the issues as well. thinking on taking a second hand Panamera or just cancel and leave it.

Me too. Thinking of a new BMW X5 hybrid. This is the first Porsche for me and such a bad experience I'm not sure I want to order another. I cannot believe the arrogance of the Porsche factory to do this to their customers and dealers and not bother informing them. Nothing else this expensive get's scuh bad customer service.
