This one has Porsche very confused.

This is a Porsche Taycan 4S Cross T

The problem seems to be location based timers and profiles. Even if I delete all timers and profiles as soon as I plug my car in at home and try and do Direct charging a new timer creates itself. Randomly a new profile also creates itself. The profile even gives itself a name and calls itself Enode.

The mystery timer: The timer that creates itself always sets itself to leave in 2 days time which then pauses charging in the car because car thinks I’m not going anywhere for 2 days.

The Phantom Profile: The profile always creates itself and always calls itself Enode which is a location based profile. Even if I try and delete the profile it will always comeback. Even more annoyingly even if I don’t delete the profile the preferred charging times on this profile are constantly changing themselves.

On the advice of Porsche I was told to do a complete factory reset of the vehicle which I have now done 3 times and the problem still exists. They also hoped that recent server updates would have fixed the problem but the issue still exists.

The only time I can get a charge at home seems to be in the early morning if I set my wall charger to charge 2am - 6am for example. If I set the schedule to come on during the day the timers and profiles kick in and pause charging.

When putting the car into direct charging mode I always thought this was supposed to override and timers and profiles? This car doesn’t override anything and is controlled by the mystery timer and the phantom profile Enode.

Any ideas?

To perform a reset you need to disconnect the 12v battery (for less than 5 mins). See manual.

Software reset will purge most settings but not all.

Soft reset won't do much either.

When you delete all profiles amd timers do these also disappear on the app (they should)?

Why is your battery display red - suggests a general charging error?

What EVSE are you using?

Selecting Direct Charge should bypass any profile or timer settings and relates to AC charging only.

I have this since switching to OVO ChargeAnytime as my energy supplier and tariff. It uses a platform called Kaluza which links to the Porsche app and creates charging timers based on times when energy is cheap.

Direct charging mode is overridden by the ChargeAnytime app.

Yep, Enode is a profile sent to the car by Charge Anytime App. It's fine... it is the way Charge Anytime gets the car to call for a charge. They come and go and change frequently to deliver the soc and time you have set in the Charge Anytime App
If you want to start an immediate charge hit the Start Urgent Charge button in the Charge Anytime App but remember it won't be discounted to 10p. You can get the car to start charging by manipulating the profile and timers Charge Anytime App sent to your car.
I'm surprised Direct Charging doesn't overule any Profiles and Timers sent by Charge Anytime though?

I’ve got a similar issue with Tibber.
Smart charging works fine, without profiles and timers it always wants to charge straight up to 100% which is as it should. With profiles it keeps on doing that, with profiles and timers it always stops at an arbitrary 42%. The Porsche App saying it’s completed charging. Direct charge does overide so everything sort of works as expected, except I‘m not able to automatically cap charging at 85% I need to keep an eye out and stop the session myself.

If you hit the button on the Porsche app for direct charge it starts but is quickly stopped again.

Ah ok I guess it is overriden the next time Charge Anytime speaks to the car.

What I do if I want it to charge immediately is set a timer in the car to give me a much higher soc in a short time. Then change the Charge Anytime App to the same.

I’m using a PodPoint Solo Smart Charger 7KW.

Direct charging doesn’t override timers or profiles strangely. Even if I delete this Enode profile which is location based and any timers on the car and then direct charge the timer and Enode profile puts itself back into the car and pauses the charge ??‍♂

Porsche dealer doesn’t seem to know what to try next and looks like the next option is to take the car back into the dealer which I’m not sure will help if the issue is location based and the problem might be originating if it’s from the PodPoint charger.

It is nothing to do with the Podpoint EVSE, that is not compatible with Charge Anytime so needs to be set as a dumb charger. Charge Anytime is sending profiles and timers to the car. Nothing your dealer can do. If you want to stop those profiles and timers disconnect Charge Anytime App from your Porsche ID. Not sure why you would want to do that as you can start an immediate charge from the App if you want to pay full price.

I don’t have a Charge Anytime app and never used it.

That is spooky!! Are you with OVO?
No I’m with Bulb but I have unlinked my car from the Bulb app so will test that out. Maybe Bulb use the same thing. Hopefully this sorts it. Will update this thread if this works.

Ok - that explains it then.

Personally I wouldn't use 3rd party software to interact with the car - use multiple PCM / My Porsche App timers / profiles as needed to create the same thing. Feels like things could go wrong when you least expect it otherwise.

The third party software just automates the process of creating a single charging profile called Enode and adjusts the time of that slot to suit when energy is cheapest. It’s just a robot automating a task that you’d otherwise need to do manually.

And it works. 10p/kw instead of 33p is a big saving.

Octopus and others work exactly the same way.

I understand but if the same off peak periods can be programmed with the Porsche out of the box offering why layer something else on top?

Tariffs don't change every day, other day, week or month (normally) and so (to me) it's just something else to go wrong and not really needed. In fact, this is what happened to the OP, right?

If your provider insists on its use to take a big brother approach on supply management then no argument at all - a saving is a saving.
