Have you had problems with the 12V battery or the electrical systems in your Taycan?

I agree that comparing owners and non-owners isn't helpful. I initially made the thread with just Yes, No, and I don't know. I added the other 2 in later and while I agree with you that the non-owners throw off the statistics, I also wanted to know how many people who were still waiting for theirs were concerned about this. So I added the other 2. It's a fairly simple math equation to get the percentage or owners who have this problem (as you did already). The website wont let me put 2 polls in this thread for owners and non-owners so I had to just throw them all together in 1.
I'ld like to respectfully disagree...

Just because I haven't actually taken delivery on my Taycan (TBD: Aug 17) doesn't give me any less reason to "be concerned" than someone who has. I'm effectively going to be a Taycan owner in very short time :) and I think I have every reason to be concerned (or not) than someone who has already taken delivery...

If all you want to determine is how many folks have actually had this problem, then that is a completely different poll. (...and forums typically draw a disproportionately large percentage of folks who have problems with their vehicles)

It's a poll within a poll so the results aren't clear to see.
1. Are there issues with your 12V battery?
2. Are you concerned about this issue?
#2 has nothing to do with owning a car so it's irrelevant to the actual subject which is the issue about the 12V battery.

Also my €0,02.

@TAYC4N I respect your opinion, but you are wrong. It is an issue for Porsche. Senior people at Porsche NA confirmed to me this past week that Porsche is aware of the 12v battery failures, and is working on a fix. Porsche is trying to identify something quietly, since they do not want to issue a recall on the vehicle. If you read informed comments on the board by @louv , you can gain a little additional insight on the potential issue - whether is is a limited number of faulty lithium batteries, or a wider software issue. We have no idea how many Taycan's have been affect, although informal polls on the Internet may give us a very rough estimation.

As for me, my Taycan has been in the shop for 10 days while I wait on a replacement 12v battery. It is frustrating because I live in a fantastic part of the world for driving and I am losing nice summer weather. Once again, I respect your opinion, and your right to share it, and I hope your Taycan continues to operate normally.

I understand the battery running out of juice, I don't understand why it needs to be completely replaced (vs. just recharged with the right type of charger). Or is it if it goes to 0 it just totally is useless?

I know it is very small consolation, but I appreciate that you have gone through this so that other people can benefit from the experience. I did just get a trickle charger too, so Amazon also appreciates your effort ;)
I have a Taycan 4s.
My 12v battery went down in the second day (only 140 km....about 100 miles done), Taycan go dead. No possible open doors, or run the car...nothing.

After to recharging the 12v battery (don't ask me how I did it....it was an oddisea!!!), Taycan's PCM system didn't works properly.
When 12v battery was replaced --> PCM go fine again.

Only a few hundreds miles later, new problems with 12v battery...definetively Taycan has a huge problem in this point.

Please.....HELP FROM PORSCHE.......It is very very terrible frustrating.
Now PCM it is completely crazy, no internet conenction working, etc.

I will ask for a new replacement of 12v battery again.....it will be the third battery in only a few miles done.

Yes, this is very clearly not a non-issue.

Louv’s analysis is correct: odds are excellent Porsche will fix it quickly.

Most of us won’t run into it.

I am absolutely not worried about it.

But it’s an actual real issue for the people it hits.

@thecoloradokid Maybe slightly off topic, but I'm curious how your dealership has treated this issue. Same question for others that have experienced it. Have they gone the extra mile to take care of you, ie.. a nice loaner, lots of apologies, etc..? Also has Porsche offered any sort of compensation for the trouble? It's certainly worth asking for.

This is such a non issue when clearly the majority of us have no issues
That is a bit strong. If even 5% of the cars get bricked by this issue it is a major problem in my view. Think if you go to a hotel and plug in to their charger on the way to catch a plane. Next morning car is dead! NON ISSUE to you maybe! .

@PanameraFrank Honestly, the dealership has not done $hit outside of ordering the replacement battery at the slowest shipping method possible. I cannot confirm where the battery is being shipped from, but it will take two weeks to get here to Colorado. Lithium batteries require different shipping methods, so that is that. In regards to a loaner, I also have a '19 e-hybrid Cayenne, so I refused their offer of a Macan as a loaner vehicle. Their Taycan demo was not offered as a loaner, for obvious reasons. In regards to compensation, I reached out to Porsche NA customer service and reported the issue, and also requested fair compensation for lost usage of the vehicle. It took them a couple of days to investigate and respond, but they offered to offset a monthly car payment, since my month old vehicle will have been in the shop for almost the same amount of time I have had it in my procession. I felt that was extremely fair. I am frustrated that my brand new car will have been in the shop for over two weeks since summer in Colorado is the prefect place to drive a Taycan, but Porsche NA has stepped up to the plate to financially offset the loss of usage, so I am appreciative of that.

What I meant was that it is affecting a very small amount of people on this forum.

@louv Don: I am not sure if your post was directed to me, I feel like you were "patient zero." Your initial report on the 12v battery issue should be mandatory reading to anyone who buys a Taycan, so they can understand immediate next steps if their battery fails. Luckily, I got the warning light first, and was able to drive to the dealership, where they diagnosed the faulty 12v battery. It sucks that I may be "patient zero" for a person whose car has to wait for two weeks for a new battery, but I will certainly make up for once I get my car back. there will be a loooooooooooooong road trip in my immediate future. I am leaning towards a circuit of Jackson, WY to Park City, UT, and then on to Vegas for a couple of days.

I wonder how many here have been adopters of early models before and had a perfect car delivered!?

I love being an early adopter. The fun of having something that not many others would have for the next 6-12 months is really appealing to me and I have done this a fair few times now.

This for me offsets any teething problems I may encounter. Agreed at this price point and a brand like Porsche should have gotten this right first time round but I have encountered this with numerous brands including BMW, Mercedes, Audi and many Range Rovers too. Probably the only car I did not have an issue with being an early adopter was a MINI! :D
