I had a close call the other day while driving at about 60 mph had to make a quick stop because a truck stopped in the road in front of me, and a truck behind me reacted late and panic stopped behind me, stopping about a yard short hitting me. I watched this unfold in my mirror because there was nothing I could do I was blocked in. I did notice after the truck behind me stopped, the rear end of my Taycan seemed to lower. Does the Taycan lift the rear end if it detects a possible rear end collision? I should also ask how to clean my drivers seat after this even.

As someone who was actually rear ended in a similar situation by an SUV, I would guess that it was actually more that the car behind you lifted up as part of the act of stopping (dip down and rock up) than your rear lowering in some kind of air suspension induced way.

I had a similar experience last summer.
I was on a main road doing about 60mph and the lights turned red. I stopped and noticed a skip lorry in my rear view mirror. He was obviously not looking - probably on his phone or something. He was not slowing down.

I had no option but to move forward through the red light and sideways by the pavement. I couldn't go forward due to traffic.

As I braced for impact, at the very last second, he swerved round me and went straight through on red.

Utter fkn moron.
I have noticed since that skip lorries almost always are dreadful drivers.

Maybe Taycan shares similar features with Audi A8?

Can you help an American cousin and tell me what a "skip lorrie" is? Thanks!

A skip is an open-topped metal container used for transporting rubbish/trash, transported by lorries/trucks/wagons that have a cantilevered hydraulic frame for loading and unloading the skip on to its back. Typically, someone orders a skip to dispose of large quantities of their building rubbish when doing home improvements, but before they get to fill it everyone else in a 5-mile radius rushes over and fills it with their unwanted furniture and mattresses.

Thanks for the explanation. BTW, in the US that's commonly called a "dumpster" (if you ever see that name.) Thanks again!
