I got a confirmation from connect support that they re-enabled it and indeed the icon wrnt from grey to green and it now works.

Same issue, solved with Porsche connect support.

But it’s very slow compared to Apple Music.

I contacted the call center, spoke to a couple people and they sent me an email asking that I return pics of the error as well as some other parts of the car (including the SOS button….hmmm…that's odd). Anyway they believe the issue can be repaired "on the back end" which is located in Germany. So this feels like more progress than my trying to install/remove/reboot etc.

Update on my sad Spotify saga: Was contacted by PNA who sent me a list of activities to undertake while the "back office" is working through the issue on my behalf. The activities amounted to removing myself from the car, waiting 20 minutes, then adding myself back, and attempting to reconnect. I was asked to take a few pics for them to see.

Of course, it did not solve the problem. Worse, it introduced ANOTHER screen asking me to verify my identity every time I start MY car.

I was worried that if I followed their advice that it would make things worse. It did. I've been on this planet now long enough to know when I'm gonna get screwed, but I allowed it to happen anyway.

The saga continues, but at least the car still runs.

There’s an option you can choose when you add yourself back to the car that bypasses the authentication every time you use the car. Remove yourself, add yourself back, and pay really close attention to the options that show up after you login the first time.

Same issue, solved with Porsche connect support.

But it’s very slow compared to Apple Music.

Incredibly slow compared to the BMW native Spotify App which worked perfectly. It often takes several minutes to load anything... I'll probably revert to using Spotify on Android Auto

So 4 months and 4 pages of posts later, I got the integration working. The guys at Porsche NA were very helpful and did something on their end (or in Germany) where I just had to delete and relink to Spotify. But as a couple others noted, its pretty slow and glitchy. I said "Hey Porsche, play Spotify" and she came back saying "Spot-EE-fy" but did nothing more.

You are able to go into the Music app in PCM and on clicking Spotify (revealed under the little 3 dots) you can see a lot more of your Spotify app than otherwise. One of the things that bugs me about Spotify is that the shuffle ends up playing the same music over and over, so I've taken to just playing the songs in order to make sure I get through all 1835 of them. Through this back menu I may be able to do that since on the CarPlay view I can only shuffle them. We shall see (and hear!).

I've finally got Spotify to log in after being told by the dealer that Porsche Germany "had changed something and wanted to me to try logging in again".

Lo and behold it worked!
I did not have to log out, unlink Spotify or any other activity. It just worked. A miracle :)

Does anybody experience an issue that sometimes it just doesn’t load list of tracks? It just says data is loading… nevertheless, I can change songs by pressing next/previous track

Yup, at least 2x a week it can’t reach the server, when parked for 30mins everything is back to normal.

I kind of lost hope with the PCM. For those who say you can live with PCM without CarPlay, props to you.

When I first got the car last year, I was not able to activate Apple Music. I’d get the popup saying Login currently not possible and a big crossed-out QR code. After few emails to Porsche, without getting any reply, it started working. Fast forward few months I added Spotify and no issue. Fast forward another few months, both Apple Music and Spotify no longer work. Both present me with the Login currently not possible popups.

I am really annoyed by the PCM now. Every few days my PCM would start with a spinning circle and hang there. The other times CarPlay would not activate. It’d ask me to enable bluetooth/wifi, which are always enabled, to use CarPlay. Sometimes it would work after few minutes, and sometimes not.

Sorry you are having this experience. As the OP I finally got Spotify integration working, but was underwhelmed by it, mostly because CarPlay works so much better. Occasionally the PCM will blackout and reboot itself while I am driving. I decided this is more entertaining than annoying (I have to tell myself this repeatedly) because in reality, the car is all about the driving, not the PCM. The only time that is an issue is if I am dependent on the navigation but then again, it generally reboots within a minute and I still have the nav working on my phone during that time.

Granted, my issues are not as serious as yours and I'm without any advice other than to remind you that you still have an awesome car to drive. I might, on the other hand, contact the dealer and ensure you have the latest update. Seeing you are in SoCal, there doesn't seem to be a reason our cars would perform so differently on this issue.
