Just had the ignominy of hearing a metal on concrete grating as I negotiated a tricky road in the dark. Worst fears confirmed - Ive kerbed my 21inch RS Spyder wheels. Quite badly in my opinion but it's just kerb damage. Unlikely to be buckled. Just the one wheel

Just asking - any issues repairing these at a professional refurbishment place?

Just checking they are like any other wheel?

I would use your Porsche Center for a reference. It’s less about how the repair looks on day one and more about the long term in terms of quality of repair.

Porsche, in the UK at least will almost certainly subcontract the work out to a good quality specialist wheel refurbisher and add a chunk of PAT. Moreover there is some risk they'll condemn a perfectly good wheel and if you search on here, there was a horror story where a dealership made the owner change about $10k of suspension parts too.

Get it done privately at a decent shop. It will be about £100. Whats the point paying a lot more when you could scrape it 2 weeks later!

OMG; I’d never ever get a wheel refurb opinion from a dealer. Any make let alone Porsche. Always go to a top quality wheel refurb place. I use the place all out local quality marque dealers send all their wheels to.

I have also used Lepsons in Gillingham before and agree that they are really good.

Go to First Aid Wheels

They have a couple of locations in London.

https://fawheels.co.uk/

1. They repaired and sprayed my dual tone taycan turbo wheels. They look better than new.
2. They have loaner rims for Taycan
3. They know how to deal with the TPM and not mess it up.

If you have scracted them badly they will weld new material on to the wheel and buff it down. They had to do that to one of my wheels.

I had work on my Macan wheels at Thewheelspecialist . Co .uk at Fareham, they told me that do work for Porsche Portsmouth. They have a number of branches so might be worth a try. I have a Taycan now with Spyder wheels , I intend having them sprayed Satin black as the GTS after I have them .

None at all. My local Porsche centre, Kid Sussex, use a mobile specialist, who I have used myself after a teeth clenching moment in an underground car park.

For anyone interested in the Sussex area in the UK, it’s a company called Fast Fix wheels. Charged £90 for a refurb on a single, satin black 21’ RS spyder alloy. Done and dusted in less than 90mins.

I’ve used Lepsons before. Great job but will use Automotive Repair Systems in Keston/Cudham area of Kent, they’ve done good work for me before. mainly as it’s closer for me
