But in your screenshot here the PMCC is connected by WiFi? There is no SIM card in that unit, so you must have had some WiFi connection that date? How did that happen then?

I have no idea, but i’m sure that wifi signal is not available where i park&charge.
Only mobile, LTE.

Btw, i logged into myPorsche via web browser.
There’s no single charging records there at all.

Charging records for DC and offsite charging are in separate spot from charging records from your own EVSE.
  • Click the center icon in history to get offsite charging records.
Mine shows neither type of charging sessions - DC or AC. The app update was pushed around the same time my annual charging subscription expired (I had to renew manually), and it only counts charging sessions since renewal.

It'd be amazing if I could see the AC charging sessions in the app - afaik this functionality was not available before. I chose an EVSE with OCPP support precisely to fill in this gap, but the manufacturer (Autel) withdrew the functionality; I can only see my home charging sessions in the EVSE app.

AC charging at home has been available since the car was launched, but only with the PMCC connected to WiFi.
This is the type of info you can see when things work as they should. But only with a PMCC and not with say a Tesla wall connector or any free hotel charge. All other AC charging will not show up

When using the Porsche Charging service card or app (and I guess plug and charge), you will see the following information here in Europe. We do not have any free charging sessions, but preferential rates.

That’’s really strange.
I went back to myporsche.com via browser.
Now, i can select charging history for the last year (on mobile app, i was able to select the date back to September 2021).
But still, the last record for charging - july 9, 2023.

they are totaly inconsistent :headbang:

anyway: i actually do not care for this history.
But i’m just interesting in, how they got any data from my charger at all.

Indeed! That is a total mystery.

First you need to log in to a WiFi network, that I guess is password protected
Secondly you need to log the PMCC in to your Porsche ID which is password protected.

Have you never done any of this?

Thanks; mine came with PMC+, and although I've managed to get it to work a couple of times (out of hundred attempts - it only supports powerline networking), I've never seen any records in the old app. The PMC+ itself did have the last 3 sessions.

This is the type of info you can see when things work as they should. But only with a PMCC and not with say a Tesla wall connector or any free hotel charge. All other AC charging will not show up
Which is one of those infuriating Porsche traits, of creating artificial differentiating points to justified tiered pricing. The car clearly knows it is connected to an EVSE, as it even tells the damned thing how many Amps to deliver. I get that data storage/processing costs, but it wouldn't be the end of the world to capture the last 10 sessions.

I should have clarified - I did see DC sessions before; but all those transactions have disappeared - either with the renewal of the charging subscription, or with the app update.

I logged when i came home on Day 1 and have to configure PMCC.
I did that in my living room, with PMCC connected to single phase …

Btw: speaking about total average consumption.
Just downloaded csv file, import it to an excel…and averag consumption is 24.6kwh/100km.
How mobile app calculated 17,3 kwh/100km is question for… some other day.
I have enough for today :headbang:

also, distances is wrong as well.
According to csv, i drove 34.715km, while i have 35.831 on dashboard… so much about data accuracy :facepalm:

Porsche engineering is very confusing. The problem at hand was to provide a log of charging sessions for the car. Why on earth collect this information from the bunch of different chargers and EVSE's, rather than the car? It would be as if someone who wants to have pictures if their world travel tour decided they will only collect pictures taken by locals at every place they visit, rather than bring their own camera and take their own pictures of the trip.

I've made this point in the past, apologies for sounding like a broken record. The app/website reports energy delivered to the motors*, and also "electric distance" - ie distance covered with motors actually energized. I concluded the delta in energy consumption was spent on heating/conditioning the cabin or the battery, as well as any auxiliary consumers.

I would definitely agree this is less of a useful metric to an end user, who, you know, may just want to know total energy consumed by/delivered to the car.

*Edit: this is speculation on my part, I do not have actual knowledge of the implementation.

I can’t speak to other brands of EVSE but I’m getting history for both PMCC devices I’ve owned plus the PWC wall charger in my on-site charging records. Each is shown separately and you have to swipe left-right between them.

I agree. You'd think it would be both simpler, quicker, and more accurate to collect data at the point of charge from the car. Why focus on charging records from EA, PMCC, and PWC devices when the car is actually a better source of data?

I understand that the car data would not capture the charging losses between the EVSE and the car, but that doesn't seem like much of a loss. I hope they re-think this model.

They could collect ADDITIONAL data from external sources if available, but the primary source should be car logs, with the additional data complementing the car's log.

At least that is how I would have architected the system, simpler, less likely to fail.

Not to go there, but car : charger is an n : m relationship; that is, it makes sense to collect data both at the EVSE/charger and each/the car, for different perspectives. The charger owner would want to know how this particular charge point is being utilized/how much energy (==gas?) it dispensed, and so would the car owner. In the majority of cases (charging at home), they are one and the same - and arguably it is easier and more secure* to collect this data from the EVSE. So I can't fault Porsche for optimizing for their ecosystem of chargers/EVSEs/cars (but I can still whine a bit about not being able to dload a charging log directly from the car).

Note that, outside of PnC, both the car and the charger are anonymous to each other. Measuring at the car is less accurate (it's after losses) and would require solving the problem of transmitting data over unreliable connections (and I know @whitex will call me out on this ?), whereas the EVSE usually has an audit log anyway. I don't think the car's internal charging log is lifetime-sized.

*Why? Because the charger is definitely associated with an account, to which this data would belong. The car may or may not be associated with an account, and privacy issues would ensue if you were to push my charging data captured from the car (when, how much, how fast) to your account.
