Hi y'all. I'm currently searching for a GTS ST, and I realized it's quite difficult to find a ST with roof rails, approximately half of the pre-owned inventory has the rails (but my other mandatory options widdles down the candidates). I have kids seats in the rear, so folding down seats for cargo is not feasible

I'm curious what my roof mounting options are for a car without rails. My situation is that most of my mounting needs are for bikes and I'm aware I can either use the 3rd party rear mount (I've only seen it on CTs, not sure if ST is the same mounting), or a seasucker suction cup (I'm hesitant putting a high tension cup on a very expensive glass roof).

Once a year, I use a roof box which I'm aware I have no manner to put on my roof without rails (please confirm), but is there a rear mounting option for a cargo box? I've seen hitch mounts with a small box or a metal crate on other vehicles.

Question:
I'm guessing my best path is still to find a car with roof rails for my needs?

Is the 3rd party rear bike mount also for the ST?

Any downsides of using seasucker on the glass roof, as I've seen cracked glass on other cars before?

Are there rear box or cargo crate options for the ST?

On my 2020 4S with panoramic roof my car has the four attachment points for a roof carrier. The points are located under rectangular flip up cover. YMMV.

Get a roof bar, it'll make your life easier. I wouldn't want to risk attaching anything to the pano glass and having it crack.

I'm sure there is a way to retrofit the rear bike carrier onto a ST, but unlikely to be cost effective. Get a CT if you must have the rear bike carrier and if you must have the plastic trim removed, look for one with an off road package and remove the plastic trim like @bsclywilly has done.

Thank you for reply. To confirm the 1up rear mount will need a different modification to the bumper for the ST? What's the difference for the bumper trims between the ST and CT?
