It is good to see that the car can actually reach its theoretical maximum charging rate of 270 kW – which it hit for a few seconds but I didn't capture a picture of. Excuse all the dust in the summer sunlight!

This is – of course – at the always reliable IONITY network.

BTW, I think I've had similar charging numbers at Ionity.

Most often get 170++.

I have yet to be near an Ionity station in need of charge but I got ove 230 the first time I went to Porsche Wolverhampton for a charge.

Unfortunately at EA in California or Nevada I have never charged above 150KW at at 350KW charger.
Not sure why this is? It doesn’t matter if I’m the only car charging or if they are all full. It almost seems as though EA throttles back the charge so that you get to 80% to 90% in free 30 minutes and you would need to pay to get to 100% when the charging rate is extremely low at less than 10K.

I’ve hit 183kW at an EA 150 charger recently. I was at about 30% SOC and used the PCM to navigate to charger, so that there was battery prep.

My max is 266kW. Last charge on Ionity was 250kW, still impressive. Then I noticed 190kW at 57% SoC, and not bad 120kW at 78%. Then usually I see a drop to 80kW. Side efect is a battery temperature - 55 C is max what I noticed, then reduced to 52 C by the end of the charge (I usually unplug close to 85%).

I have to use the PCM to navigate to the EA charger more often so the battery pre is done. Maybe that’s why I don’t see higher charming rates.

I reached 269KW several times too. Actually it's kind of a game on highway : Porsche Route planner and arriving at the charging station with 25% SOC and it should do it most of the time (between 255 and 270)

See, @Jonathan S. , Porsche AG and VW AG executives who enjoy reliable/available DC fast charging in Europe do not understand your charging complaints.
