I have been on the fence to get it or not for the hood crest and wheel centers, but I need to see it in person against my Ice Grey hood and gloss black wheel spokes. The description of the color is that it looks grey with tawny (pale brown/orange) bronze undertones, which sounds like it does not go with any color.

I like it, looks good on white or dark green, and the subtle standard deviated stitching is nice.
Too bad it's only available with the factory dented front facia.

I was going to order front hood emblem from Suncoast. It says it is compatible with Taycan.

My considered critique: what a load of pretentious bollocks.
And on a personal note, I need more colour in my life, there's already enough grey in the world thank you very much.

Porsche has sadly turned the corner and is now mainly a "lifestyle brand". How many of the people in this video do you think actually owned a Porsche in the past???

I bet Steve McQueen would have wanted it on his 917... :CWL:

In opinion the inspiration of the Porsche legacy is the right direction. They should use that thought process to bring back analog gages, a keyed ignition, and a manual transmission in the 911. They are currently are valuing technical competence over mechanical romance. You can’t make that up with a badge. The brand is at a bit of a cross roads. Once they correct the direction of the 911, they can properly trickle down inspiration from their sports cars to their “gate way” vehicles like the Taycan.

That's now how next generations will work. All new cars are inspired by the taycan. 718 EV, according to leaks, has most estethic accents same as taycan, Macan EV, Cayenne EV according to leaks; and probably new 911 turbos hybrid also

I would suggest that if Taycan is the inspiration for the future of Porsche vehicle development that they reconsider their approach. The key is to start with aspirational vehicles (like their sports cars) and trickle down not the more pedestrian vehicles (like Taycan) and attempt to scale up.

My reaction to the video was <slow, bidirectional obscene hand gesture>. Having said that, the ethos of the brand has always been “understated performance”. (I can now see a few of you gesturing.) Setting aside the pastel colors of the 70-80s (or the weird “special wishes” specimens), their cars have always looked unassuming, purposeful - and delivered more than expected. Even now, you won’t see ridiculous creases, folds, wings and planes as you would on .. well, anything else. (Yes, I’m aware of the fake vents on the turbos, stop interrupting.) Porsche designs continue to be clean, perhaps no longer understated but still far from shouty. Ferry himself was a quietly/subtly elegant person, and it seems that the Style division is trying to stay true to that legacy. (If anything, the Taycan facelift is more Porsche than what us lucky gen 1 buyers got.)

Wow, that is a lot of people spending a lot of effort to realize than understated can be quite elegant. No wonder Porsches cost so much and they keep raising prices - all those people need to get paid!

While I personally replaced my hood emblem and wheel centers with monochrome versions (for the hood emblem I used a Porsche OEM 928 intake manifold emblem) before (while?) Porsche invented turbonite, I also don't think it will look great on all color cars (Taycans or Macans so far). I kind of agree with @WasserGKuehlt , Porsche brand has always been more about performance than flash, which is why I personally like the brand - I don't need gull wing doors, large spoilers, fake vents, etc - all I want is performance, packaged in an understated, elegant design. Porsche should stick to their tradition of customizability - let customers specify what color hood crest they want, and yes that includes bright orange ones. There should be no reason by a Taycan RWD should not be able to spec turbonite crests if that it what the customer likes. Before you reply with "but, but, I want others to know I paid for a Turbo", I get it, status symbol, I just don't think the original Porsche brand has been about status symbols, but that's just my personal opinion.

True, but they’ve always been keen on “differentiation”: the turbo sub-brand, speedster, spyder, America, rs etc. It creates aspirations for the “if you know, you know” crowd.
