Just purchased Taycan CT (MY21) from Porsche dealer - driving home thought the air con was a bit powerful, so tried to turn off and heat up the cabin. Turns out that the heater isn't working ...surely Porsche's famous 111 point check on all cars would pick these things up?

I understand that this is likely to be an HV heater issue - if it is, any idea how long it's likely to take to fix.

Not a great start to Taycan ownership....
As others have said it should have been replaced via the recall.

I had my MY2023 4S CT heater replaced while it was in for first service all done in one day and a Macan loaner. The TSB allows 590 TMU which is almost 6 hours do the heater but Sytner at Solihull have done so many they can now do them in 2.5 hours. I dropped my car off at 08.30 and picked it up at 3.30pm serviced and new heater.

I've been told that they have ordered the part and will fit it early next week. There are no outstanding recalls noted for the car, so either it was done and failed anyway or the recall system isn't 100% accurate...

To also add to my increasing frustration, I'm trying to get signed up for Octopus Go. Checked the website for compatible chargers, went with approved type. Tried to get onto the tariff, which requires vehicle reg to be typed in, only to generate an error. Rang Octopus to be informed that they don't support Porsche cars!

Please check if your front Brake Hoses recall was done along with PSM update for better brake blending. I do not see you mention anything about that. Most of us are waiting on this recall to be completed due to parts (revised front brake hoses).

is there a way to check what recalls have been done (as opposed to seeing which are outstanding?). I could request the info from the dealer I supose.

I had a no heat issue on the passenger's side in my 2020 4 S early in my ownership. It turned out to be a failed servo motor in the AC system. Dash had to come out repair. There is an extended warranty for these servo motors too. I suspect your HV heater has failed since you have no heat on either side..

interestingly for a brief 5 minute period I got warm(ish) air on the passenger side whilst the driver's side remained cold. Both now definitely cold.

Curiously, Porsche specific recall site is down. This is where I typically check for recalls.

yes - that's the site I used to check no outstanding recalls.

I got a non-tethered charger (call me untrusting - but it would be able to be accessed by anyone and didn't want to risk tampering). Came with the PMCC but not the Public Charging cable I needed.
There is security built in (normally) to prevent unauthorised access - RFID fob or similar.

The cable in question is for public AC untethered EVSEs where you need to have your own cable. All DC EVSEs are tethered.

Great that you have the PMCC - will support up to 22kW on 3-phase supply. Your Taycan is 11kW AC max which would require 3-phase to max out and so limited to 7.4kW if on single phase. This should have been supplied with 3 cables - 2 supply and 1 EVSE to car cable. Authorisation is via PIN (if enabled) and automated once a car has been authorised by you on the PMCC.

It was tampering with the cable I was/am concerned with. No cable -one less thing to worry about.

The PMCC appears to have a three pin plug cable to the unit, a CCS out of the unit and a third cable with three phase plug. What I needed was a cable from the wall charger to the car. I was sold a 16amp cable, which limits output to 4.4kw whereas a 32amp cable would give the full 7.3kw.

I didn't realise that I needed to be an electrician to charge up my car..!

That's not right. I'm happily on Octopus (Intelligent Octopus Go aka IOG) with mine and many are. I do use the integration with the ESVE (wall "charger") which is a Zappi.

Even without a compatible smart charger, IOG can use an integration with the Porsche app (and car directly) to plan in smart charges.

Yep - I explained patiently to them that this was not correct and they should check their own website!

Got another advisor who was a little more helpful - explained that it took a while for my smart meter to connect to their system which was the reason for the issue.

All now sorted - but just another 'fly in the ointment' of switching to EV....!

you'll get over these humps soon enough and go back to driving constantly with a huge grin on your face!

Driving the Taycan is quite unlike any car I've previously driven. It is without doubt the best and does put a smile on my face. I think I do miss the 'aural theatre' of decent engine to go with the speed - but I guess I'll get used to that...
