This is why I like this forum - input from all parts of the world. We have comments on masculinity and "road size," comments on Tesla, comments on big truck hatred, comments on Porsche values. I think we have touched on it all.

For the record, I live out in the western US and have access to plenty of wide open spaces to drive that dump truck sized vehicle. I am not too concerned with narrow roads in Denmark, or Belgium. I have an e-bike for that! What is appealing about the Hummer EV is driving that beast with the top off in a beautiful and remote part of the western US and not having to worry about charging for 300 miles.

I have lived in 6 different countries, been to 46 countries on 5 continents, and have seen amazing things and met some amazing people. I appreciate all of what I have experienced, but to me, there is nothing like driving out in a place where few people have seen and soaking up the remoteness and enormity of it all. The American west provides that for me.

I am not sure what I am going to do in regards to trading in my Rivian and buying a Hummer EV. I am certainly intrigued, but also unsure due to the sheer enormity of the thing.

Has anyone cross shopped the Taycan with Tesla’s other big truck? I just think the Hummer is too small for my needs.

“Men, we are all very secure in our manhood, so let’s make these roads narrower. And parking spots, too - no relaxing there.”
?
They weren’t considering absurdly big personal transport when the roads and cities were built.
A chariot track defined the width of a lot of old roads (and railways apparently) and I often complain about their lack of consideration of car parking in Oxford a thousand years ago, it makes it very inconvenient.
Amazingly local residents don’t seem keen to demolish historic buildings to widen roads and build car parks.

Nice job Hummer! Now every stupid a-hole who either can’t drive, won’t heed stop lights or actually fully understands that their vehicle is deadly and likes to drive threateningly will be killing and maiming motorists who even in modern vehicles will still be woefully unprepared for a collision with basically a commercial truck.

Nice job.

A year later the market has completely tanked on these. I like the pickup version was offered 15-25K off from local dealer on different trims. They had 18 sitting on lot.

I see a few Hummer EVs and too many Cybertrucks in our small but well do to town. I think people want to reward themselves with things that look unique.

Belongs on the long list of things non-Americans will never comprehend. Like guns, cream In a spray can, orange narcissists, and chocolate that tastes of sand.

100% valid point. You can add American country music to that list as well.

I never did end up getting the Hummer. Instead, I got the Chevy Silverado RST EV. More of a traditional truck look and a more functional truck bed to put crap in. It still has a 220kWh battery in it, so it is pretty big and still covers long distances pretty easily.
