The only way I can get in for a timely service is to decline any courtesy car. Even then they bumped me off due to lack of staff etc.

The motor trade in this country now is pretty fooked. Simply not enough well trained staff.
My local three service centres all say an extra 2 months for courtesy car on top of the month+ wait. As my car has already been in for 4 recalls/issues excluding this new problem, I bought a fold up bike so I can get the 8 miles home and back. For a premium brand that is quite ridiculous if you think about it!

Many believe that the shortage of techs is due to shortage of workers. PAG is complicit in this problem. A tech cannot work on Taycan systems unless they go through the electric car tech training. It is very difficult for a workshop to obtain the classes for the tech's. There is simply not enough training classes to support the need.

I think if it’s a recall, they’re obligated to do them. Imagine your car burst in to flames after they’d had it and not done an update etc….

You are right, that is beyond ridiculous......what a farce!!

Especially when they have their lots full of used Taycans that nobody wants to buy.

If they really wanted to (put the customer first) they could make this work quite easily. Just commandeer a few of the used fleet for courtesy cars.

Porsche need to be treading really carefully here, as service waits are really starting to pi55 owners off in the UK.

A better point is to get someone other than Porsche to fix a kerbed wheel!! ?
I tried, nobody near me would touch a diamond cut wheel other than 1 place that wanted £280 per wheel!

Porsche are doing £180 + vat per wheel and it's covered by my wheel insurance up to £250 anyway...so I thought I'd go somewhere that I'd spend the week in a decent courtesy car and get a free coffee when I drop it off too!

They've put me in a '24 Tacan 4S for the week

Fortunately they have a lime bike bay at the back of my service centre.

Which UK Porsche dealership? It can't be a Dick Lovett franchise with brilliant service like that

You'd think - I HATE Dick Lovett as a group and their Mini garage are top of my most hated list having argued with them for the past 10 months to the point they now simply don't respond, but this is DL Bristol and I can't fault their customer service. I've always found them brilliant to deal with - the only car dealership I've ever enjoyed having to deal with.

I was with Dick Lovett Swindon for a few 911s and my first Taycan but fell out with the Service Manager when he refused to accept that my Taycan fob was setting off the alarms in almost every shop I went into. I asked him to reset it anyway and he refused as he'd googled the frequencies used. I tried to explain about harmonic frequencies following decades working on radio frequencies.
I went to Dick Lovett Bristol for my next car and had no issues with the service dept, although the sales side aren't wanting to sell me another Taycan :( Nor are South Lakes or the Isle of Man for that matter, I probably don't look like Porsche customer #fugly

They gave me a pink Cayman, which caused quite a few drivers a scare on the M4 when they looked to see what hot chick was in the driving seat
