I was booked in for my 4S collection from Reading on the 23rd of November (supposed to leave factory 27 October), although absolutely no idea where things stand currently! The dealer was very tight lipped when I called this morning.

Right now my main concern is getting it into the country before 1 January.
Likewise, can live with the delay once on these shores...

I think production may be slightly affected but not massively. Logistics on the other hand massively.

On a positive note although we start the lockdown like this last time they slowly allowed some things to open early like car showrooms. Risk there is low and HMRC collection high. Porsche retail group has the 31st Dec as their year end. So if your car is coming from PRG They are going to be pushing for delivery for their own accounts not just brexit

We are collecting a Cayenne tomorrow from Wilmslow Porsche so will ask Exec for views on delivery impacts and likely processes.

During the first lockdown in the UK and in Germany, there were too many unknowns to even allow normal economic activity.
This time around there is a real focus on creating a break in social interaction whilst protecting the economy. Further, all businesses that are still trading have built protection into their daily process.
IMHO I think that if you already have a fixed production date, you are unlikely to be affected by more than a few days if at all.
Porsche will not close the factory or reduce production unless absolutely no other option and your dealer will do everything they can to keep fulfilling orders.
And in my VERY humble opinion, I would not worry about Jan 1. There is too much to loose on both sides and it is too close to a deal to not get a suitable agreement over the line.
I feel bad about taking delivery of a £100k + car when there are lots of people losing their jobs, but in the same way as I tip even more generously when I eat out and I have my hair cut at the moment, if everyone stops spending money, it will take even longer for them to get a new job.

All quite heavy for a Sunday!!

Hey guys
I just popped into my supplying dealer Porsche Mayfair, my cp8 has moved forward since last week to 06/11 and my car is expected to be delivered before the end of the month and potentially just 2 weeks after cp8. The dealer told me they can deliver any cars they sell before Thursday (England lockdown day) during the lockdown but not make new sales. So all good it seems........

Just spoke to Porsche Preston and they said the same thing as you guys. He also checked my order and its been shipped out of Germany and on its way. So hopefully by end of the month. So relieved it doesn't go into the new year. Hope everyone else gets theirs soon

That's rather frustrating. Porsche Preston are also supplying my Taycan. I was told to expect delivery most definitely before year end when I placed my order, but a screen grab of the order screen on their systems from last week showed the vehicle being delivered in Jan 21. It hasn't moved in the past 7 days having requested a further update today but, crucially, is scheduled to enter Grimsby from Endon on Dec 25, i.e. before year end. The frustration is compounded however on account that in the last hour, I received a reply from Porsche Preston to my enquiry about lockdown dealership operating circumstances and was told they were waiting to be advised by Porsche GB and would come back to me in due course. Seems you clearly have a more forthcoming sales exec managing your purchase than I do.

Porsche Reading called me earlier telling me that my vehicle is currently on route from the factory to Emden and will be shipping out shortly. He advised my scheduled pick up date of 23 November remains unchanged (if all goes to plan logistically) and that although the showroom will be closed they are still able to do hand overs. That, and everything else going on in the backend is unaffected by the lockdown.
