Hi all

In my PCM (J1.1) a lot of AC charging stations within Paris stopped showing. This is really painful as I need to check my phone each time I am looking for a charging station around my destination in Paris.

I opened a case with Porsche and they are claiming that they are not able to reproduce the issue. Since I don’t see how this can be possible, I am looking for a kind soul who is willing to check in their PCM and tell me whether they see the issue or not.
(Your help will be greatly appreciated as this case has been going on for months with Porsche with continuous back and forth.)

Here is an example of an address where a charging station missing from PCM: “63 avenue d’Iena, Paris, France“

Can you put this address in your PCM and tell me whether you see a 7kw AC charging station there?
(don’t forget to clear your charging stations the filter in the PCM to display all)

Where it gets interesting is that I noticed that all missing charging stations from PCM are present in MyPorsche app but their connector compatibility is wrongly referenced: MyPorsche app shows “(?) Autres” as a connector which can be translated to “(?) Others” in French instead of “Type 2”)

This a screenshot from my PCM showing 3 missing charging stations (green dots)
(You can use the same postal address I provided above to display the same area in the PCM)

Do you see the same issue? Or do you see the 3 charging stations instead of the green dots? (one of the dots the charging station missing mentioned above as an example)

Now this is the same view in MyPorsche app. As you see the 3 charging stations are there (if open one by one, it doesn't say Type 2 compatible but it has the strange "? Others" tag.

Now the screenshot below is an example of a Charging station that doesn't have the issue and is present in the PCM. I picked one identical: from the same operator, same equipment, same power, same area (only a few hundred meters away from the stations mentioned above). This one is not only present in the PCM but also correctly referenced in MyPorsche app as compatible with Type 2 connector.
So I am seeing a relationship between both problems and I don't see how this issue can only present in my PCM.

If I have a couple of you confirming that you see the issue as well it will be very helpful for my open Porsche case

Thank you!!

Can't you search Google via the PCM and locate that way as a workaround?

Sounds like a filtering setting or issue to me which won't clear.

Reboot PCM - 12v disconnect method for a hard restart?

Yes it feels like PCM is filtering out those stations even though the filter is cleared (the PCM is set to all charging stations). My theory is that the filter is hard coded to exclude non Type 2 charging stations and since those charging station are not correctly categorized in Porsche DB, they don’t show in the PCM.
However when I asked Porsche support to reproduce the issue they claimed that they are not able to do it which makes my theory invalid. That’s why I am asking for someone to do this simple test and tell me what they see

Not sure to follow. What do you mean? How do you search for available charging stations around?
If you mean use the POI to display the list of charging stations around (instead of using the map) I already tried that and the charging stations don’t show up. Also if that works (which doesn’t)it is still not convenient. you want to see the charging stations in a map to see the closest available in your direction.

The whole point is when you arrive somewhere you see on the PCM map all charging stations available around you so you go park and charge. Since this bug appeared, I need to use my phone instead: basically park on the side to display available stations MyPorsche app or Chargemap app then navigate there using Waze or G maps. Not very convenient ( I even recently got a fine when I was spotted using my phone behind the steering wheel), and sometimes you can’t even find a spot to park on the side and search.
The PCM is just supposed to display charging stations so we can just navigate easily to them (which is not happening for 90% of the charging stations in Paris). This is basic stuff for an EV.

If you tap the Google G icon and type a search it will list any and all EVSEs which bypasses anything internal to the PCM which might be contributing to the issue. The EVSEs listed (normally) must exist in Porsche's DB and it can take quite some time for more recent EVSEs to appear - there are many new high powered EVSEs in Scotland which have been around a while and don't yet feature in the PCM search (even when connected to one and charging!) - so either not signed up to Porsche and / or not sourceable from a common location.

Ok thx, I do always use google search to search for addresses because it more reliable but I never typed evse in there. I will test searching evse within the Google search as I am curious to see what the result will be.

However this doesn’t solve my problem. Having a list is not useful. I need to see visually where they are on the map and more importantly whether there are availability for charging. In Paris city you can arrive somewhere and you have 4 charging stations at 5 min each but you can have only one with available slots. You want just to know which one to go to. Having a list without knowing availability is not helpful as you can start trying one by one and end up spending 20 min finding one with an available slot and meanwhile the slot can go away.

To answer your interrogations
- the charging stations are not new. The provider is the same and almost unique in Paris. Sommer of their stations are displayed in the PCM but the majority are not (for the same exact equipment)
- yes the charging stations are in Porsche DB and i see how many slots available per charging station in MyPorsche iOS app as shown in my screenshot. Also you can launch the charging through iOS app or Porsche card. So they are fully compatible with Porsche Charging services. This is not some strange charging station that Porsche doesn’t know about.

Finally Porsche is claiming that they tested with a Taycan cluster 37 and they do see the stations in their PCM.

I think we are diverting from my initial ask which I would like to come back to if you don’t mind :)

Can anyone please do the test using the address I provided and tell me whether you see a charging station there with the availability displayed ?
I just want to confirm whether I am the only one having the issue as per Porsche claim or this is a general issue.
Thank you

I had the same issue beginning of the week for all stations even DC ones that were showing without the availability.
Even well known ones of Ionity while I was travellinf through France.
2 fingers on the clock, reboot PCM and everything came back.

PS: My PCM doesn't find that address 63 av. d'Iena, Paris, France
Even when typing on google search while it's directly ok on the app.

Use charge map on apple car maybe better and more reliable that the PCM?

Bonjour

Good luck, I have been driving Taycan J1.1 for over 4 years (2 different vehicles) and this is not a new issue. They simply cannot remedy this despite countless map updates. One day a charging station will appear on the map and its gone the next day. Nice when it works, but not reliable.

Merci ?
Cela pourrait beaucoup m’aider.

Thanks. I am not letting this go and I am going to follow with support. This is basic EV stuff and extremely frustrating. I let go a lot of other bugs but this one I am not willing to do it as it has a high impact in my day to day usage.
I am hoping that this is a general reproducible bug though and not only my PCM. That’s why I am asking for your help trying to reproduce the issue with a couple specific charging stations
