Hi everybody!

Im looking for a phone holder solution with magsafe which is around there like on the picture. It is the only one that i could find on the internet (a DIY one).

Its not a mandatory to be exactly there, but maybe that would be the best position for me.

- I want it much more higher then a proclip, because if i get a message or something i dont want to look down, i think more safer if its higher

- Around vents on the left side from the steering wheel is not really work i guess, dont want to look to the left because of the same reason and vents are still down

If anybody had the same perspectives what phone holder did you choose? I dont need charging function, just a holder.

Looking for something that not block the view to the chrono cloak but maybe im asking too much with this one...

Thank you so much for your comments!

This one from ProClip is great. Took seconds to install.

I never said that I want to read long messages or texting back. Probably everybody put his eyes on the phone for half sec when getting a notification. Doing this is much more safer if i have to just turn my eyes on it and not my whole head with like a proclip.
As other have said, just use CarPlay (or Android Auto). Your phone (and accompanying messages) can wait. Or pull over and delay yourself a bit to read the messages. I see so many drivers with eyes off the road "for half sec" who veer into other lanes or slow down needlessly as their eyes and brain are distracted.

Dont have experience with carplay yet. Im coming from a Tesla MY, and will get my taycan in a month. But probably you are right and i wont need my phone around there.
You don’t need experience with CarPlay even. “Siri, read my messages” avoids your problem and it also works through CarPlay. But I’m with prj on this. 1.6 million car crashes a year in the US (about 20 deaths and 700 injured if you are in the UK) as a result of mobile phone distraction while driving. As they say, most accidents are not the result of a small number of people taking big risk but a large number of people taking small risks.

Okay, i think you all are right, and i will just use the phone holder to actually hold the phone, and not for to easy check on it, safety first. Thank you!

For my main phone it will be a proclip or similar, but i would need an other spot for my secondary phone (the one for company things). Do you think the "storage"space under the climate controls can work, or maybe using 2 proclips on both side would be the best? (dont really want to use the built in charger place, because i dont want to open it every single time)

I couldn't find one that would work in the taycan, so I design my own to be 3d printed. It will accept any standard head that can accept a ball fitting (pretty much all). So you can add one that can be wirelessly charge.

The bonus is that it can easily be wired to the fuse box on the driver side.

Yes, safety first! And in that spirit, you can just leave your phone in your pocket or bag.

My area have very poor reception, so waze/google maps gets flakey unless phone is mounted higher up.

Do you realize that OEM phone boxes have cell signal amplifiers in them?
That is the place where it has by far the best reception, not "mounting it higher up".

Yes, that's also my solution!
I bought one on Amazon instead of printing.

I had the Pro-Clip but didn't like the position.
It also annoys passengers.
Using a cup-holder has several disadvantages, too.

I recently bought this iPhone holder. There’s no charging attachment, but I can run a cable from inside the glove box to the iPhone and it works great.

What I especially like is that this is easy to put on and take off.

Actually, it’s just a place for the phone to sit. I always use CarPlay in the Taycan.

If you don’t use the phones while driving, you just need to open the center armrest twice during your trip. Assuming you’re using iPhones, charging isn’t that necessary during the day. In case you want to charge Amazon offers a charging pad, that can be installed in the storage area under the centre console.
I’ll never use my phone during driving, also not in combination with CarPlay (also in my previous Tesla MS)

You can get some side bars for that storage space to stop stuff sliding out (look for “Moittellc Taycan” on Amazon) or you can fit a “leather” box in there from AliExpress for almost a 10th of the price. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006833260461.html

Better to store it in the centre console though. It has wireless charging and two USB-C ports to charge your phones and its away from the temptation to look at it. The other temptation denier is to switch the (iPhone, I don’t know about Android) to Driving Mode so it doesn’t alert you until you arrive. Settings/Focus/Driving .

I did not know that. I have poor reception when I leave my phone in the armrest. But I have never put it in the charger slot. Maybe that will make a difference. I’ll give it a try.
