One of the perks never mentioned about buying a Taycan is how you get a free base-level Macan for free. I know my way around the loaner Macan so much more than my Taycan! Heck, I even put a ceramic coating on my loaner one weekend!

Had macan Ev loaner while my taycan was in for service and updates. It feels more like a 40/50k pounds car. Not impressed.
I always seem to get the same chalk colored base-model Macan. That said, I wouldn’t mind trying out the Macan EV turbo trim.

After my short time with it, not even the turbo model would interests me. The driving position and overall handling are a major letdown. If it carried an Audi badge, maybe it would seem more fitting.

Ha! Speak of the devil, I just picked up my Macan 4 EV loaner today. Was even able to match many of my Taycan's features namely, Ice Grey, Glacier blue accents, Burmeister, electric charging doors and glass roof. I do gain a trailer hitch so I can mount bikes with a bike hitch attachment, so it fits my lifestyle.

I would say the PCM is an upgrade, albeit minor. XM radio STILL does not have artist/track preview!


Still getting used to the driving position. Seats feel too low, and the 21 inch wheels and tire are brutal ride quality for a "soft" SUV.

Agree with @Crazymind, drove several trims (RWD, 4, and 4S) for a day each on short and long trips, and something is not right. Inside feels too big as in not sporty and handles like a van, definitely not sporty. I would like to drive a proper configured Turbo, but none are close enough to try.

I wish my van to handle like the macan :)
It’s a good product, no doubt. maybe is the best suv to drive. It just doesn’t feel porsche enough for me to pay the price tag. 40/50k max.

These days, driving a Taycan is like buying a lottery. You never know which porsche assistance number to call, which porsche center to visit and which loaner/rental to drive.
This comes after a battery module repair in May. Now the car is hoping for some mercy from Stuttgart for a pack replacement. Service people from 5 different countries' porshce centers are very helpful. And extended warranty (and roadside assistance) are a must-buy.

My OTA SW update seemed to take, but kicked up 14 errors from headlights to brakes to chassis. It was like Christmas lights across the dash. The dealership said just a day to reload the SW, it’s now been 10. Granted, I’m still under warranty so they are finding other things to bill HQ. 20K miles and the front bearings went out…questionable & hard to believe for a dry weather garage queen.

My main gripe with the Macan is a noticeable lag before hitting the gas and it actually start moving. :/

Obviously, I'm not a fan of the SUV, but I do wonder if this is a better one to have than others. I love my Taycan Station wagon (but do wish it was a little smaller. Shockingly the Macan is!)

But everyone loves their SUVs so I would get it and sell it!

I’ll say this: the EV Turbo trim, with lowered chassis in Sport (or even better Sport+) handles incredibly for a SUV.

Does it handle like a 911 or a Sedan? Not quite… it is a SUV, and heavy due to the large battery. But still, ahead of the competition on this segment.
