Although at that price, maybe I can live with a 4 vs. 4S?
If it's speed/acceleration you're after, you can 3rd party tune a CT4 to faster than stock CT4S (tuned, they would both be the same, as 4 is just a detuned 4S).

I would use @Jonathan S. advice. He did a very thorough search for his used CT a little while back, you can search this forum for all the information and comparisons he did.

That's pretty good, but if you compare that to the new 2024 CT 4 i posted, i would go for the "slower" one but newer with higher sticker and a similar price(it has Rear wheel steering and massage seats so it's well equipped!)

Personally, I stay away from leases. I drive far more miles each year than any allowance, I have a longer ownership horizon, and I can deal with the uncertainty over future resale value. (Okay, so we can be certain the future resale value is ... low.)
But for the right driver, sure, leasing instead of owning can make sense.
However, trying to make sense of lease numbers, ugh. I do calculations like this for a living , and personally I don't want to go up against all the clever folks at PFS, Inc. The F&I guy at one particular dealer for a cash purchase, sure, bring it on!

The most important factor is to take your time -- CT is a thinly traded market, and each Taycan is unique, or nearly so.
The spreadsheet I created in August 2022 is still posted HERE.
If I had to do it all over again:
  • I would add RAS to the must-have list. The practical benefits of parking agility are minimal for me, since I rare have to park in tight confines. But the maneuverability at low speeds is just so delightful. Granted, I haven't done a compare-contrast back-to-back for RAS vs sans, but just magical that such a big car has such a tight turning radius.
  • I would add Sport Chrono to the must-have list, as I like to change modes often, and that dial is fun.
  • I would add 19.2kW to the must-not list given its problems.
  • I would relax on the exterior colors, since the car is just so outrageous no matter what that an outrageous color is merely bouncing the rubble.
  • I would consider the S6 etron since the road test reviews were finally released today after their previous embargo and the consensus is ... only a slight edge in handling over the A6, so slight that it really doesn't deserve a separate model name. But might be enough of an edge to merit its consideration, given that it has a hatch like a CT and 40/20/40 split for cargo versatility, at least about the same cargo capacity, and sounds like similar rear seat room. Certainly won't drive as well as the Taycan, but might be close enough. Plus we can count on a VAG EV for reliability and ... well, okay, whatever.

I agree if I only look at the dollars. Thank you for the tip. Imho, that car is "artificially" high. Tons of $$$ on stuff I would never pay for - I stopped calculations when I got to $15k in options for seats and trim and there's more than that. More like a $120k car with expensive lipstick. But I do appreciate the tip. Wish it was a performance oriented CT 4 and I'd jump at it.

Thank you for that spreadsheet. That's something I would do.

You're not kidding. The values have dropped like a rock. As a small biz owner, I can deduct the lease entirely. Whereas the depreciation and assorted deductions when the car is depreciating so rapidly are not nearly the same.

I see this car as a fun car that I can use for multiple scenarios. In 24 months I'm out of it and I don't care about the declining value after that.
If this was a 991.1 6 speed turbo this would be a completely different scenario..

^ The other factor as a small biz owner is that you get the $7.5k tax break for any purchase of any new EV, regardless of ... anything. I looked into doing this but I would have had to jump through lots of hoops to register a car in my biz name, since it's just a sole proprietorship that consists of me and my laptop. Although if your ownership (or rather, drivership) horizon is just two years, then yes, a lease is perfect.

Found a 2024 CPO CT 4S demo with 1k miles at a Porsche dealership. Msrp $155k. Cross fingers on what the 24 month lease looks like.
Only nit are the 20" wheels with all seasons. Don't need that in LA. But, maybe for the vicious potholes, 20" might be better.

^ That does look nice! Only concern would be the 19.2kW, which appears to be not just prone to failure but destined for failure - although others can chime in on that.

Any way to bypass it? I know that it supposedly cuts down charging at home. What about charging at a fast charger? Can it be bypassed and still fast charge?

^ The faster speed capability is irrelevant. Unless you pay some big $ for a 100a breaker, the necessary conduit, likely panel upgrades, etc. (The 80a unit is also more expensive, but the big expenses are the upgrades.) Finding such a L2 unit in the wild is also rare -- mainly found at some dealerships. Otherwise, you just charge at home on your typical 48a L2 EVSE as always and pray the 19.2kW charger doesn't fail. (Or are such prayers never answered? Just search on the forum for the tales of woe, which seem even worse than other maybe-it-will/maybe-it-won't failures.)

As loaded as this car is, it really surprises me they didn't include 150KW voltage booster (for Tesla Supercharging at 150KW instead of default 50KW).

Wheels you can always change on your own.

Trying to stay disciplined on this car and not add costs. Only driving it for 24 months so it is more like a longer term rental.
Looks like I have to grind them down to $112k to get the #s I want.
Dealer about 800 miles away so I have to transport it.
2024 CT 4S, demo, CPO, $155K msrp. 1k miles.
How realistic to chisel down to $112k? I'm extrapolating using reverse lease math that dealer is at $115k ish.

What numbers you looking for? What is the MF and residual youre looking at? Also, doing a one pay can save you thousands.

Ideally I'd like to be in the $1100 per month for 24 month lease with $4k cap reduction.
I'm guessing the resdiual is approximately 49%. Waiting for that exact #.
Money factor is Porsche Finance.
Does anyone have an exact # on that? Again I'm estimating around 0.002

Both those #s are fairly fixed. What can be adjusted is the price.
Is that correct?

Once I have that # grinded down, I'll look at the 1 pay option. 100% agree it can be a game changer. Did it with a mini Cooper a few years back for my GF. Paid $1750 for a 12 month lease.
