After 11 months putting in my order, multiple delays due to tariffs and a tarrif price increase, my 2025 Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach as arrived.

I'll need to wait close to 3 weeks to drive. It will be flatbeded to me to avoid any paint defects.

- 3 step paint correction
- Full exterior PPF
- interior PPF
- Ceramic coating of PPF and CF rear shell

I had a wonderful experience with Andrew Kang at Porsche San Diego.
He kept me sane through the process and gave me right pricing to make this happen.

Nice car but Really brand new Porsche needs a 3 stage paint correction? My god quality must be way down. When I took delivery of my PTS turbo S it didn’t need any paint correction prior to PPF.

Also what is interior PPF? Do you have little children that make a mess in a two seat car? What am I missing here?

It depends how OCD you are. I'm probably lower on the OCD scale.
A friend of mine had his brand new car wet sanded and detailed for 30 days straight.

Quality of the paint was actually pretty good, but I want zero shrinkage, no sign of possible orange peel and to be like as reflective as a mirror.

It has tons of swirl marks, glue marks from shipping.
Best of all, I have a rock chip with 14 miles on the car because they drive as part of the PDI.

I drive alone 80% of the time and no kids.

CF door sills get scuffed when getting in and out, that black plastic in the dash is prone to marring, HVAC screen for fingerprints

Living the dream. What a beauty, the color I would have chosen for a GT build too

Fantastic looking car and a real head turner. I imagine the wait was actually good fun?

Would you mind letting us know the effect Trump Tariffs had on final pricing? I find the subject fascinating:)

Congrats @Mr.Smith! I know you've been waiting for this moment. I gotta say though, you have way more patience that I would, holding off driving it to do cosmetic things. But I understand it, different people have different priorities. I buy cars primarily for driving, so I picked up my CT Turbo and drove it from the dealership showroom 3,500 miles across America despite it being the middle of winter - a great way (for me) to get to know a new car. I considered shipping it, but then decided that since I bought the car to drive it, I should, well, drive it.

Are you planning to ever track it?

When i placed the order, it was supposed to arrive June 2025 at a price of $237,605. Of course I knew there would be the max discount applied with all incentives on arrival.

After the tarrif talk started, my build kept getting pushed back by months. Every couple of weeks it would change.

Final price increase was 3.6% more that included a price increase on all options and the base price.
Final price was $246,115, but MY2026 will be $247,700

Its a Taycan 4 with RAS, PAR, a differnt rear motor and 2 differnt inverters for a $125k premium, with this car being worth $100k in 3 years.

There were pre tariff Weissachs sitting for close to a year that I could have gotten an additional $35k in discounts, but I wouldn't compromise anything in this price range

You’ve got to one kidding. They chipped your paint with a PDI?!? That would send me over the top. I suppose if you have them touch it up before the PPF you may not see it. I would make them pay for the PPF however?
Also with PPF you should do paint correction if there is orange peel but depending on the micro scratches on the clear coat you won’t see them at all with PPF on since it doesn’t refract the light the same. I’ve been doing PPF to my cars since 2006 and I flip 3-5 cars a year and have used every product out there. My ocd is bad as you mention but my Porsches tend to need far less than my Italian cars.

I appreciate the support and your high quality content.

I timed the order to arrive when my RS E-Tron GT lease was up. I missed it by 2 months due to tarrifs.
It was worth the wait of those extra 2 months and these extra few weeks.

Sinse I had the RS E-Tron GT, it wont be a foreign experience for me, just a little more extreme.

When I know what I like about the car, I start focusing on what I don't. The paint flaws would be one i couldn't stop staring at.

Chips can happen within a mile depending on how it's driven. I'm sure they pushed it a little.

They are getting me touch-up paint which my guy will take care of before correction and PPF.

Im sure you are right. The less attention the paint needs, the less it will cost me.
