Hi all,

I am new to the forum as I just leased a 2020 CPO Taycan Turbo S about 5 days ago. Unfortunately, the car had the "Electrical System Error" warning message 2 days after I took it home. The dealer that I leased the car from was about 50 miles away so I contacted several dealers that were closer to me in hopes of getting it fixed quickly. To my surprised, most of the dealers weren't able to diagnose the car for at least 4-5 days. Just as surprising, none of them had a loaner car available for several weeks.

After talking to my dealer, we decided to tow the car to their location (through Porsche roadside assistance) instead. Even that was a disappointing experience. Porsche's roadside assistance was only able to get a tow truck to my location the next day. I called AAA instead and they had a tow truck to my location in a hour. The car is now at my dealer's shop waiting for them to diagnose it. It appears that there aren't enough EV technicians overall (and given the lack of loaners, a lot of general issues with Porsche vehicles). Are others seeing similar level of support (or slow support)? I am located in Southern California. This is my first Porsche. If this is the Porsche support that I can expect, then I most likely won't be getting another Porsche at the end of my lease.

4-5 day to diagnose is extremely fast in "Porsche Word". No loaner is more or less normal for couple of weeks.
So business as usual. Or a little bit better than average.

I did not get a loaner with my 4 month old GT3... - Taking it as a normality as a long time Porsche owner.

SoCal is a large area, if you're not comfortable to name the dealers, can you share the closest city?
Not getting a loaner for few weeks is rare

Try Ontario or Riverside, although it's ~40 miles from Irvine, but from what I learned from others with the same issue, it's going to take weeks or months until you get your car back.

Thanks! I ended up towing the car to Porsche Ontario. They seemed to be more motivated to get the car fixed since I leased the car from them (and hopefully get me a decent loaner asap if it looks like it will take awhile to fix the car) and only had it for a few days before the issue showed up.

Failing after only 2 days I'd be looking to get my money back and walk away from the deal.

Unfortunately I don't believe California has a "cooling off" period for leases. At least my dealer was helpful and able to get me a loaner quickly...

Personally, I'd be absolutely livid I'd been sold/leased a car not fit for purpose - if it failed maybe 3 or 6 months later I can understand but 2 days??? It sounds suspiciously like the car was faulty before you agreed to take it. If the dealer is not being reasonable I'd take it to the lease company.

That's the same thing I've seen. As a first time Porsche owner, I was very surprised about how bad Porsche service is (with poor communication, long wait times for loaners and the staff generally knowing less than I do about the car).

I am definitely not happy. I will say that the sales people that I work with are great and doing everything they can to help (one of them drove an hour one way to drop off the loaner). They will even try to get me a taycan as a loaner (the current loaner is a Macan S) if it looks like it will take a long time to get the car fix.

Had over 20 ICE Porsches and was mostly happy with the service experience. The Taycan service experience has been clown college. PCNA says one thing, the dealer either says another or has never heard what PCNA says. One Service Advisor says "charge it like you do your cell phone", the next tells you don't charge over 80% or you might burn your house down. It's like I moved to a third world country and dealing with a entry level brand...
