The electric passenger heater warranty will be extended to 6 years after the new car delivery date. Good on you Porsche! I have taken my share of shots at the company for the way issues have been handled. Taking the opportunity to voice my pleasure on this one.

As I typically end my complaint posts, I will end with:

Porsche, if you are listening…… 👍 👌

I got the same letter, plus another one saying the onboard 22kw charger is now covered for 5 years.

Well that's pretty good to hear!

Nice to see Porsche stepping up on issues like this.

Same here. Interestingly though, while the 5 year OBC extended warranty does show up Porsches internal database (the one the shop would pull to see what is covered under warranty - I remember seeing it there as long as 2 months ago, so not sure when it got added, I just got the paper letter recently), the passenger/cabin heater warranty does not show up there for my car. Not sure what that means. I have had both the heater and OBC replaced once already - heater was a pre-emptive replacement, OBC was due to failure. I guess I better keep a copy of the letter handy, just in case.

No idea. Maybe have your dealer, or some member of this forum who offers, run your VIN number to see what warranties are showing in the Porsche databases?

Got that letter, then 2 days later got another letter from Porsche that the "passenger front seat cushion" has an extended warranty, (6 years) covering the occupant detection system.

Wonder if this varies by model year. I have a 2024 CT4, with passenger heat/air, and have gotten no letter like this.

I was at my dealer last Wednesday to book the car in for winter wheels to be put on in November.

Normally, I just wait while they do it but the Service Manager stated they’d like to hold onto the car for two days. They are going to replace the heater once again as there is now another updated part. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with the current one and I already had a replacement a while ago as part of another campaign.

I wonder if this is possibly related to the extended warranties in the US?

So I have a 2022 Taycan, and did the campaign Feb 2024 replacing the compartment heater. Now that it’s out of warranty — boom — faulty again.

I’m hearing that people have received letters about the compartment heater warranty extension (2020-2024 Porsche Taycan — Warranty Extension for Electric Passenger Compartment Heater). I honestly don’t pay close attention when those things fly in, but now I’m being told my vehicle isn’t included in the extended coverage and I’d have to eat ~$4k for the replacement.

Does anyone have any idea why my car wouldn’t be included in the warranty extension? Has anyone else with a 2022 Taycan run into this? Any insight would be appreciated.

After talking to HQ GA they are telling me these are the only things that's left

Servo motors for air conditioner: Active
Corrosion warranty: Active
Electric fan: Active
Padding for front seat: Active
High-voltage battery: Active

You might just be the first one on this forum who tried to claim this extended warranty. I have a 2023, and even though I received the letter, the extended warranty does not show up in Porsche internal database (as in, if you ask ct14garage per this thread). Perhaps someone forgot to push some button to record the extension of the warranty in Porsche database? I mentioned it in post #5 above, as it seemed weird that one warranty extension was in their database but not the other. Now I'm even more glad I kept the extension notification letter, it might turn into a $4K off coupon.

My 2021 Turbo S is at Porsche now for the same repair. I specified "extended warranty repair" on the service request. It went in yesterday and no one has called me to say it's going to cost me anything... yet. I can see in the app that my car is in a repair bay. I'll report back with the conclusion once I have an update.

Oh, and I did receive the letter about the warranty extension.
