Short number plates, front and rear options?

So, bought a short taycan number plate, don’t be mean… it was only £250 inc the £80 transfer fee, so just takes it off the current age associated plate.

So, anyone running a short number plate , front or rear and how have you fitted it?

Currently, front plate has an oem large plinth with 4 annoying holes drilled. Seen this short plinth as oem part but can’t see how long it is? The front plate I want for a 6 digit plate is 408mm length. Would this work?

Also, anyone have any joy filling 2 small holes without re spraying the compete bumper?

interested to see pics of UK shorter plates either front or rear and how you’ve set it up.

Not applicable to EU spec cars (including UK) that has a dedicated registration plate mounting platform integrated into the front bumper and is perfectly safe and designed for drilling.

Ah, thank you. If it is 300mm that would be no good to me as 6 digits needs 400mm to have legal font. If anyone in uk and has a 4/ 5 digit short plate may be an ideal oem plinth.

Bought the above plate holders. BUT, the front one interferes with the front camera. Removed it, and just used car tape

Are you running a short plate? What did you do with the residual holes? Take it car tape works with the curvature of the front bumper ok?

As said all uk cars come with plinth and 4 horrible holes holding it on. Not sure if you could request at build for plinth to be left off, but that ship has def sailed for me..

I have a 5char plate but just use std length plates. I think narrow ones look odd on a really wide car.

Hi, although my plate is a private reg, the actual plate is full size. They slot onto the holder. The actual plate holders screw into the plinth on the car. If using short plates, you would need to remove the plinths from the bumper and rear. Leaving the dreaded “screw holes”.

See pictures of my plates, both front and back. Back has the plate holder and the from has car tape. Short plates, you will see the plinth i'm afraid.

I have had a 3 digit plate for about 25 years, I have always had it on standard sized plates.
I have been considering moving it from my 1991 Merc 500E to my Taycan and reflecting on whether to go for a non-standard plate but have done nothing so far...
Certainly a plate simply OK for 3 digits looks a bit naff to me.
