Parked up in a town supermarket carpark yesterday to return to some scrote having tried to lift the badge from the bonnet of my Taycan.

Fortunately they gave up before they caused damage to the bonnet itself, and I've managed to find a new replacement on Fleabay (boxed, so not nicked from a car) for about £85 (they're about £145 from Porsche). 10min job to replace myself so could have been much worse.

May the perpetrator be afflicted with the pox for the rest of their measly days, and be eternally grateful they gave up before I returned to the car. Wankers.

Interested to hear from our overseas posters whether this happens a lot abroad, or if it's a UK peculiarity.

A good opportunity to go turbonite! 😉
Yes, I'm always positive but I can imagine you're furious.

Car's Dark Cherry Metallic - the coloured badges work really with it so will be staying with them.

Just relieved there's no damage to the bonnet.

Infuriating. However take some solace from the fact a Porsche shield is still sought after?

Wtf would they even do with the badge? Can’t be worth the reselling of a damaged badge for 10$ to risk having the cops called on you

Bastards. I'm amazed you escaped without further damage looking at the state of that badge!

When I lived in central London I parked my 911 and my Boxster on the street for several years, which was a perfectly pleasant street but in a slightly less salubrious part of Kennington, and never had any problems apart from the occasional leftover kebab on the roof.

Then, once when visiting friends, my Boxster was keyed on every panel while parked on one of the most expensive streets in swanky St Albans

I guess I should be thankful that in around 30yrs of owing nice cars, this is the first time I've had something like this happen.

I use them for all duties and all over the place. I suppose the odds were always going to catch up with me at some point :)

New badge will be here next week, quick replacement and can forget it happened.

This is the mindlessness that I just don't get.

Ironically there's a police station around 100yds from where the car was parked. The car park and supermarket were full/busy.

The one thing I won't do again is park nose in with a car in front...I imagine the scrote was out of view whilst trying to get the badge off.

Absolute scum - such is the society we live in these days. I've worked damn hard to be able to afford to buy nice things, like my cars and I'm damn sure if I returned to my car and found someone trying this sort of thing I'd quite happily have my day in court after showing them the error of their ways.

Hope when you get the replacement fitted that this doesn't happen again and it looks as it was, thankfully no bonnet damage which is good (and probably lucky!)

Very annoying, and so pointless. Could've been worse though.. the headlights on my Cayenne we stolen twice, the second time costing £17k due to all the damaged panels (the lights themselves aren't cheap).. sold the car in the end. I'd say the police were useless but you don't even speak to anyone anymore, it's just logged online for the CRN - and thieves know it.

Porsche have solved the problem for the new generation cars but it ruined ownership for me.

Don't try looking for logic in these types of actions, like why. There is none. Just know the world is filled with people that make bad decisions (for many different reasons, most illogical) and those people live difficult lives because of their decision making. This thought alone brings me a sense revenge and justice when someone does me wrong and it allows me to move on.

Its a PITA Murph, but sometimes you have to be glad its nothing worse.

Last Thursday night I got a frantic call from my wife saying a lorry had hit her and spun her car into the outside lane and that a car then smashed into the back of her and she was stranded and didn't know what to do.

The emergency services were called and the motorway closed.
Her car is in a sorry state, but I am just so thankful that everyone somehow walked away unscathed.

So I would like to add overseas lorry drivers to the 'arseholes' camp but am so thankful when thinking about what could have been.

Hope she's OK FF. Puts things in perspective 🙂

Where in the UK are you?
As others have said though - complete tossers but could have been much worse. When these things happen I keep it in perspective by being grateful that I was born here and there are many worse places to be or things that could happen. Hope you get it sorted soon.
And glad your wife is fine FF
