Low mileage, 2025 GTS CPO with a few red flags, need advice

If you're worrying about it, just leave it.

Taycans are not rare cars. Buy one that won't give you the worry beads. Life's too short to be fretting every time you drive it.

Appreciate you'll have the new car buzz, but you'll get that with any car you buy.

Agree with another poster who noted those tyres are not daily use tyres. I wouldn't imagine many Taycans are specified that way.

I was thinking about this a bit more. The original concern that started me down this path was the tires seemingly at 50% life and the brakes pads about 25% used after 500 miles. That is excessive wear that is unusual at best.

As I mentioned earlier int he thread I believed the Pirelli P Zero Rs had a 8MM tread when new, based on what I could find on the internet (there is little information out there so I assume that number comes from other P Zero tires in the family. The dealer provided me photos showing new Pirelli P Zero Rs have 6.5mm tread depth and the car I'm dealing with had 5.2 to 5.7mm (the shared photos with a measuring tool for each tire and a new tire on a new vehicle). As others have mentioned, these are softer tires than normal, so likely all within normal bounds (though still a bit concerning I'll need to replace these tires in a year or so).

The new thought was on the brakes which I just learned. Porsche forces a brake calibration process on new brakes and routine "maintenance" to keep the brakes ready to use. Some amount of brake pad will be used in this process but it's hard to know how much. AI says the brakes should be 8-12mm when new and some deeper research was 10-12mm. The car is at 8mm in the front and 9mm in the back, so hopefully it's all just normal wear due to calibration process.

It's still a bit odd (the amount of wear on the tires and brakes) but certainly not a red flag and it should have never sent me into the PIWIS rabbit hole.

Yes, the car actually forces the brakes to be used for a very short period of time on each new drive after say an overnight idle time, but again, there is no way you can wear the pads out during the lifetime of the car. They are only replaced due to age at a 6-year mark regardless of miles on the car. I am afraid, the car will be gone before you pull the trigger on it, if you are going to hesitate any longer. For sure, we would steer you away if there was a real problem with the car.

Not sure the pad wear statement is correct and pads will require replacement sooner than suggested. More use is made of the mechanical brakes than you imagine.

My 4S had 50% wear after 2 years and 20K miles. Gentle driving etc but still they wore.

Each car / usage will be different.

Yes, but for the car the OP is looking at it has 500 miles on it and was driven for 3 weeks. No way the pads are severely worn.

It’s either lazy service center measuring, bad info from AI or both.

It was already locked up through a down payment. I'm working through whether to lease as we speak.

People were getting like $35,000 off MSRP buying those new in 2025.

Super loaded, but missing HD Headlights option if you would wish to have it complete. HD Headlights have some features that Standard Headlights do not have, and I am not talking about the Matrix functionality since both are Matrix type but that function is not enabled in the US.

Don’t these cars use mechanical brakes only until a few hundred miles when new? That, and a track session could explain the high wear.

Matrix Design LED Headlights are standard equipment on it.

For the cost.. I'm a picky buyer so not many options for me.
