One of the perks never mentioned about buying a Taycan is how you get a free base-level Macan for free. I know my way around the loaner Macan so much more than my Taycan! Heck, I even put a ceramic coating on my loaner one weekend!
Truer words were never spoken. Mine is Chalk with Bordeaux Red/Black interior. Drives nice, but it is really underpowered.

Check out my Macan 4 loaner
No window sticker, but I can see:

-ice grey
- Burmesiter
- 21 inch wheels
- glacier blue LED
- power doors
- rear sunshade
- passenger display
- innodrive
- roofrails
- pano roof
- insulated glass

approximately $106k MSRP. Honestly, I'm happy to test it out for the week as in playing with the configurator, this is a similar MSRP build I would have done. It gives me a good sense of whether the Macan EV is for me (don't prefer it), and a preview of the upcoming Cayenne EV.

After my short time with it, not even the turbo model would interests me. The driving position and overall handling are a major letdown. If it carried an Audi badge, maybe it would seem more fitting.
Exactly what I felt when I drove shortly a Dec'2024 Macan EV right after the Taycan Turbo.
I wanted to make sure what was more important for me : driving or having the latest tech (coming from Xpeng G9 SUV too) : not impressed either, I wouldn't buy a Macan anyway now.

The Cayenne EV 2026 looks great, and even the new Mercedes GLC EV 2026 might "beat" the Macan, while max option is 95K€.
Just my feeling, until I can drive both :)

Vs the 911's what's more fun to drive? Macan EV or Taycan?

Odd thing about Macan to me is that it doesn't have much more space than the Taycan (the back seats are even worse IMO).

@Michael, I just noticed you are in Denver. Which dealership are you going to?
Hi Monique - I bounce between Littleton and Colfax for warranty work. I usually go to Dart for anything else. Are you a PCA member? It helps with discounts if needed.

I AM a PCA member (and a new member, so thanks for that recommendation.

I assume Colfax is Porsche West. I was going to suggest going there as my experience has been completely different than what people mention on this forum. Always get in and out quick. But it seems like you've got that covered.

YES! I am a PCA Member. And a new one. I'll keep that in mind as I'm off warranty now.

Odd thing about Macan to me is that it doesn't have much more space than the Taycan (the back seats are even worse IMO).
I never drove a 911 but a lot of "normal" cars, then I went down the Porsche path almost accidentally, because a friend told me about the huge depreciation of Taycans (I'm in France), combined to leaving my old company it was the right time for me to buy my 1st car, at 52YO lol (I had company cars the last 25Y, no need to have my own).

I drove the Taycan, then a 4S : very good cars.

Then I drove the Taycan Turbo i'm buying : incredible feeling, 1 good step above the 4S which was still slightly "sloppy", while this Turbo is just perfect : no "wobbling" at all (when you turn it's turning almost perfectly flat, you don't get pushed left or right in your seat) it's really a world appart.

But I missed the crazy technology I had in my Xpeng G9 Perf, so I asked the sales guy to drive a recent Macan, full option, to see if it was a better fit for me, ie the right balance between up-to-date tech (not better than the Chinese or Tesla, 100% honest) and a perfect chassis.

So he let me drove his Nov'24 Macan full option, all tech inside.
A bit more fun than my G9 Perf, but definitely not "better" so it can't justify 125K€ vs 78K€.
If you want a great versatile SUV, go for the 2023-2025 Mercedes GLC hybrid (rechargeable ~127km WLTP one) : this one's a killer, the chassis is better than the 2024 Macan I drove, and definitely better when you option it fully, ie 115K€ brand new. All you will loose is a tiny bit of "fun", because this GLC is 390ch at best, but it's not bad either, and the driving is so precise that it's a pleasure in all conditions.

Despite all of the above said, my choice was done in a heartbeat : Taycan Turbo is a different world :)

I agree, I drove Nov'24 Macan (~120K€), and also a Q6 Etron (~125K€) for half a day, the Q6 is a better choice.
But I'd definitely choose the Mercedes GLC hybrid (2023-2025 model 127km WLTP) for 115K€ which is the "not far from perfect" choice for me.

Not sure what your full story is but if you intend to resell your vehicle, it definitely sells better when it's been under Porsche Approved warranty its whole life (at least the market in France is like that).
Other older/experienced forum members may have a different opinion, I'm just giving a feedback as I'm new to the Porsche world :)

Maybe so, but only until the BMW iX3 Neu Klasse arrives in spring.
That appears to have upped the game significantly in this class.
My post was true 5 months ago, it still is today. As for tomorrow, we shall see. 😉

Picked up my Macan base loaner on Friday after my first Elec System Failure warning.
Pro: Interior is nice for a crossover. Easy to get in and out of. PCM is much faster than my '22 Taycan.
Con: Wish it was electric. No instant torque. Apple CarPlay is way too small - should be full screen.

Looking forward to getting my car back. Not sure when that'll happen. 😥
