A few times now I’ve set my preconditioning timers for times I need to leave, as the tooltip in the app suggests.

10mins before the time I’ve set, I check the app and nothing’s happened. I’ve had to enable preconditioning manually to get it to do anything.

Have I misunderstood how the timers work? Is it actually a time to start the cabin conditioning?

Please share all timers you have set so we can see what's up.

Could be conflicting settings if you have more than one active timer for example.

The feature is only for cabin heating / cooling.

It’s as simple as it gets. Got to 0550 as I was getting ready to leave and nothing had happened.

I only want it to pre heat the cabin to defrost the car, I’m not expecting it to pre heat the battery etc.

Silly question but the timer is off can I assume that wasn't the issue?

Nothing else obvious comes to mind.

When you go on to 'battery' on armrest console, underneath the large battery showing percentage charge, it has a button that says pre-heat and another next to it that says direct charge. This pre-heat button needs to be turned on otherwise the timers will not work. This is not for pre-heating the battery, but the car.

Couple of issues right away. Yes, it must be enabled but also recurring.
There is no point of making it a one time for just Tomorrow.
Also, make sure you send it to the car and then check in the car that it is set.

I do not agree with @EVFan with his advice on the in cabin button, that is for manual pre-heating initiation after the car is off and not related to controlling pre-heating of cabin via the App using Timer.

@SergeyIndy why does a climate timer need to have the repeat toggle for it to work? I can’t see why it should be set if you want a one-off, but I’m wondering if that’s why timers I’ve set haven’t worked.

It should not and I will see if I can test it to confirm.

From the manual and note you must have 25% or more charge.

Pretty sure i never had a repeating preheat timer but also I would either combine with a charge or preheat on demand from the app an hour before leaving work when conditions required it.

As posted earlier check that your timer is being set on the PCM in case there's an issue there.

Crikey, no wonder a few percentage of charge can disappear if pre-con starts up to 50 mins before the set time 😲

So the clue is that timers relate to departure time and be ready by that time.

Better to use on demand say 10 mins you plan to leave.

Anyone's guess as to why Porsche didn't provide and option to specify a duration.
