Regen when lifting off the accelerator. The reflash increases the 'strength' of regen, making it more like (but not fully) Rivian or Tesla one pedal driving.

Got it. I know this is somewhat subjective, but I like the regen as is from factory. I feel like more regen would be too nauseating maybe. I also hate driving with it off, makes the driving too unpredictable thus the first thing I do when I get in the car is press the steering wheel button. This is my first EV though, I reckon others may be more used to the stronger regen found in other makes.

Yeah, some people, especially if they used to drive a Tesla, prefer 1 pedal drive with significant regen when you let off the accelerator.

Coming from a Mach E (where you have many different combinations of regen and both 1 pedal and 2 pedal drive), I prefer 2PD and minimal regen. Drives more like a “normal car.”

Personal preference for sure, it's just great to have the option with MapEV to change it from factory.

My wife drives a Rivian R1S so I'm definitely used to more regen.

Just to clarify here, this is completely optional - we only do that if the customer asks. Otherwise someone might read this and assume that it's always the case :)

And thats why prj tune is perfect for me. He tunes the car to be so much faster and as a bonus I asked him to adjust the cars regen. This was done perfectly. Two options for the price of one :)

Although, 1PD is personal preference it doesn't mean that your personal preference (which let me remind you was a lazy implement of proper braking with EVs), means you should apply the same to a Taycan. My rec to you would be to learn how to drive correctly, with complete control of the car in all situations, regardless of what convenience 1PD provides you.

This tune option is not one pedal driving, why not read previous comments. Yes it’s stronger regen on level 1 (on) and therefore differentiates more with level 0 (off) but the level of lift-off retardation is still subtle rather than abrupt and you still use blended brake pedal regen. I’d say the green regen level you see on the instruments is 2-3x what it was for a given situation. Feels completely natural.

Apologies.

My opinion is still the same with 2-3x stronger regen over stock. Feels natural in what way? To you? It sure doesn't feel natural as intended, which was probably to have it feel natural like in an ICE vehicle. You don't make the braking dynamics of the car better with stronger regen. To illustrate....

EVs with strong regen (especially on cars that give you the option) always seem like they're brake checking, constantly overestimating/underestimating decel required when needing to brake quickly. How much liftoff do I need? Oops, not enough, let's step on the brake. Ok let's back on the accelerator. It's even worse in braking situations when you need to get off the accelerator quickly and onto the brake pedal. Boy, what a head jerker.

It's great this tune gives you the option of bringing your VW ID braking dynamics to the Taycan. 👍

Not sure how you know how it feels without trying it, but there’s none of the negative characteristics you’re describing, still feels very much like a Taycan. Ramping it up to 4-5 times stronger in pursuit of OPD would be going too far and your observations would be more understandable.

This is smooth, no head nodding, fewer brake pedal dabs but for a more abrupt slowing the brake pedal is required, rightly, paying attention to driving, braces the body a little. Maybe it feels natural because it’s similar to ICE engine braking in a lower gear in suburbia.

The Taycan’s Auto-regen feels like it can deliver as much regen strength as this new level 1 when needed so it’s not as if this is out of whack for the car.

As for the sacasm about the ID3, there was no mention of braking dynamics from me as believe it or not I can tell it’s a totally different type of car. I did mention consistency, in that like the Taycan with this new level, it has a regen setting that is a similar amount more than regen off.

I didn't really make any kind of matrix, but probably GPT can make one from indexing our site.
If buying directly in the UK you will pay tax on the import of the control unit, but not on the service fee.
Control unit we sell at 320 EUR, shipping is around 40 EUR and the tax is paid on those two costs, whatever the HMRC charges.

There's a dozen customers from the UK. Some from this forum, some not.
