im saying my car has no snow tire choice in any size!
Also, I don’t see why you can’t run the J1.2 spec narrower rims on a J1.1. I’m certainly running 1.2 21’s on my j1.1 -I assume the rims have the offset difference worked into the design. It works that way for all the others.
My bad, mis-read your post.
Very strange that there are none options for setting a winter tyre at all. I guess you have really scrolled all the way to the bottom of the tyre size list?

The rims from J1.2 will physically fit a J1.1. Note that the TPMS-sensors work on different frequency between the two models, so you woud have to replace them if you got a second-hand wheel set from a J1.2 and want to fit them on your J1.1.

On another note: had my car in for the two year service and monthly software update 🥴 and I pointed out to my service advisor that there are only settings for 20 & 21” summer or all seasons. No winter tires of any size!! Does everyone have this issue? And does it matter
My take on this is that this is simply Porsche being Porsche when it comes to software - they just lag behind.

I have Continental 21" NF0 wintertires on my J1.1, passed the Approved inspection with them on - guess that confirms twice that they are fine.

I’ve actually set up a trade with someone here. He’s sending me his 1.1 sensors and I’ll have them re & re’d and send him back my 1.2s. I’m just hoping that I can keep my valves and just swap the sensors. I’m probably not alone in needing swapping I just don’t get it why Porsche did this.

Same! My service advisor was as shocked as I was at the omission - I think the only problem is that the guessometer is going to be a little more off.

I’m almost through my first winter with the Taycan and this was one of the more severe winters I’ve experienced in about 20 years in Ohio. Temperatures in single digits or below 0F for two weeks straight.

Efficiency performance below 2 mi/kWh for short trips and maybe approaching 2 on longer ones. Had to make emergency stops on a couple longer trips due to terrible efficiency in extreme conditions. Thankfully had the NACS adapter for the most recent one or it probably would have been tow time.

Also hit something that cut a tire on the highway halfway on a 75 mi drive to the airport and had to limp there and back home after it sat for a week and went flat. The onboard compressor was helpful there. Got a fresh set of tires (Continental ProContact RX), ready for 2026.

I only have L1 EVSE at home and it would not be able to restore the lost energy from the day before, even with 20-40 mi driven. It was rough. I’m thinking about installing L2 at home but also thinking if I made it through this extremely bad winter, I can make it through any other winter. I also could have done better with letting it go to 100% charge over weekends or times when I wasn’t using it. I didn’t think the efficiency would drop so much but lesson learned.

So overall, a rough season, but made it through with ideas for improvement for next year.

This is my first winter with my 2023 GTS Sport Tourismo riding on 21" Mission E wheels and new, staggered Continental all weathers. It's my first Porsche, and Toronto is having a right proper winter so far. It's been cold, snowy, and iced over since early December. I've put on about 3,000km of winter driving so far.

My Taycan experience hasn't been perfect, but overall, I'm happy with the car's competency and composure in mixed winter conditions. It has 10/10 traction. I've driven all manner of Quattro Audi's, and this is like those, but with more torque and precision. The car feels planted and I feel connected to the road outside while driving it, moreso than other cars. The braking is quite good with these tires; obviously winters would be that much better. Maybe I'll get a set later on, but I haven't felt the need for winter city/highway so far. The heated steering wheel is great, but the button is in a dumb place (easy to press accidentally). The heated seats are similarly fast and hot. App/remote climate control has been reliable, and this just may be the feature I just can't live without anymore. Overall, the Taycan GTS ST is a great winter car that looks and feels the part. Now for the trouble bits:

- The cameras are not well shielded from ice buildup. You need to check and clear them if you plan to use them at all. It also causes an annoying number of alerts and bloops and bleeps inside the cabin. Leave me alone, I'm winter driving here!

- The manta air intakes clog up with snow and ice - I dunno what this does to performance, but it can't be good. I clear them out all the time, but they clog right up again.

- My cabin heater completely died 2 weeks ago, replaced by Porsche Vaughan under warranty.

- My rear windshield blade snapped right off yesterday! I activated it while driving and it was frozen to the window. The motor overcame the windshield blade, and it snapped. C'mon really?

- Remote climate control doesn't work unless you fork out for Porsche Connect. Pay up!

- Everyone already knows the range isn't great and it's further compromised in the cold. I charge at home and 99% city drive, so it's really not an issue.
I’m in Toronto too! (At least part of the week) 24 ST GTS, I run winters and highly recommend getting a set. FB marketplace has a few, and there’s a guy selling etron OEM winters cheap.

Wow, L1 charging! I’ve gone with 48amp chargers at both my houses. I peak at 14.5 even though the car is supposed to be 11ish. I don’t have the 19 option, I’ve heard about the problems, but I’m curious if anyone has had experience.
my feeling is that being able to charge overnight is a key feature.

I only have winter on 19 and 20" rims, loaded and unloaded, and summer on 19, 20 and 21" rims also loaded and unloaded.
I assumed it was so the App showed the correct deviation from running pressure so accurate corrections can be made.
All seasons are not and option, but being different here to in the US and Canada maybe the menu choices are region/country specific.
Interesting!
I’m GTS ST so I can’t go down to 19”s. That said, I’m in Canada so the idea that I can only select All Seasons is ridiculous.
im running 3885, whisvis as new software as they will load, even though my hardware matches the J1.2

You might get that impression but it is not strictly accurate in my experience of long drives. Even in the coldest temperatures, my battery would not lose the temperature gained at the first HPC recharge. Very little preconditioning was required for subsequent HPC stops. (I only recharge to about 80% to save time.) When setting off from home, it helps a lot when the car is connected to a charger during preconditioning for departure.
