It's basically an ashtray that goes into one of the cup holders.

I got one hoping to be able to modify it into a phone holder (basically stick a magnetic QI charger pad on top of it). But the fit is not very tight at all, so way too wobbly to make a stable base.
This one is a no brainer to get every time while still free but not free on other models ($60). The good use for it is to store a cleaning cloth for screens and it also fills one of the holders nicely with a Porsche lettering on top. Looks nice and clean.

Alternative thought if you do not choose a Porsche Experience Center delivery, for it is a super special experience you would remember smilingly for decades. Plus getting some track time in a near identical to your Taycan with an instructor next to you helping you safely learn your cars cornering, braking, steering, etc.

Additionally depending on which dealer you buy from annd where it is located, and how far your home is from the dealership versus how far from a PEC LA or AT experience, you could actually save more than enough to fully pay for your Porsche Experience Center. I have done the math for my probably unique purchase, and the transport fee saved by doing PECLA will not only pay all of my $2K PEC LA but save me $1,100 more even if I then choose to hire an enclosed transporter to bring it from PECLA to my doorstep. Though instead I would drive it home from PEC LA and enjoy my new Taycan’s first road trip (another super experience). Of course your costs/savings could be extremely different than mine…

Appreciate alternative perspective on the ATL delivery. My personal view, the car is not ready to for me to drive to enjoy until it has gone through paint correction, PPF, tint, replacement of side markers, not rushed PCM setup, and a good set of high-res music on a memory stick. Therefore, my first drive is out of the PPF shop with everything perfectly done and settings set with all I have to do is start a music track.

I cannot see myself enjoying driving a car home without the above, glare (no tint) and always stressing about damage, etc. No thank you.

Some strange choices.
CF bumper trim, but no CF mirrors or CF B pillars.
VLC, which is a gimmick and if it breaks you'll be driving a loaner for over a month most likely. Instead of VLC the car would look much better if you specced the rest of the bits in CF.
Seat belts in the wrong color that don't match the chalk seats, surely that's a mistake?
Dash cam prep - The Porsche cam is pretty bad, I'd skip that.

For the wheels - those other options with the plastic air guides look absolutely hideous in real life. Go to a dealer and find a car with those, they look like shit and I've seen many posts on facebook of people ordering them and regretting it because they look nothing like in the configurator.

Another vote for the Spyders. I love your spec! It will be an amazing car. I built a very similar car (but on a '26 4S Black Ed. vs a GTS) and didn't compromise on most of the options you selected as well. I think you will love the active ride, variable control roof and burmester. It's another level of enjoyment. I realize there are some thumbs down opinions on the VCR but it was important to me to have. If you want, DM me and I can send you some pics of what it looks like on a full sun day inside the car with clear and matte.

I also went with the spyders in satin black and absolutely love them. They're beautiful wheels and IMO suit the car so well. I only wish they were easier to keep clean (which is something I obsess over constantly).

I actually live in ATL but didn't take the experience delivery for the same reasons you noted - mainly I wanted the car PPFed before I drove it. Also, I don't think you get to drive your actual car. But I am going next week to drive the GTS on the track! Last year they had turbos you could drive and regret not doing that (they don't have an ETA on when they'll have those back if ever).

Congratulations and I hope you enjoy your car. It's a masterpiece.

FWIW, I had them ceramic coated along with the car 3 months ago (Dquartz pro) and they've been really easy to maintain so far. My environment may be easier on them though.

Usually when I can't decide between two wheel options, I take one as dedicated winter setup and the other for the rest of the year.
In your case with all-seasons that's not really applicable.

I'd order the car with the spyders (IMHO a GTS needs those in satin black), and then keep your eyes open for a nice used set of the other option you like. Get yourself a good floorjack so you can swap wheels whenever you like to change the look of the car for a while. If you can find the wheels for a good price and keep them in good condition, you wont lose much money on them when you want to sell them after a couple years.

Lots of folks against VLC pano roof but if I was building it to how I would’ve liked it, I would’ve chosen it as well. I searched for months trying to find one on Porsche Finder until I gave up and pulled the trigger on one without it. It was 1 of 2 things I wanted but didn’t get, whether they’re practical or not. You do you dude.

First off, I appreciate the updates from everyone. From joining the forum about 3 weeks ago, to passing on the first deal I found, to calling around to diff dealers, the time is almost here. A dealer swapped out an allocation for me and I put the down payment down a week ago. The freeze date countdown had begun prior to me and its on March 17th. Literally 2 weeks to make final corrections and my delivery date is Mid June. A bit wild so here I go. After all things considered on my side I'm financing as this will be my long term daily. I didn't want to lease due to mileage and long term plans for the car. I'm keeping my MB GLE coupe, and supplementing the miles between the 2 cars...but the Taycan will be the new primary. It's go big or go home time! In this regard, EV made perfect sense for me. I wasn't swayed by any 911 talk at all, everyone tried me, but that car just didn't fit my practicality for use. This car was specific to my 120 mile commute 4-5 times/week and I only aimed for a daily with better range than the 18-23mpg my GLE was getting, despite me loving that car sooooo much. Not to worry I'll give it to my kiddo as a first car in 5 years or so.

Quick facts: I wanted the GTS. I am a tech guy and wanted a high spec car vs. spending the extra on a higher powered trim level. Trust me, I had the chance for more power used CPO deals but each time I was always like NOPE. For some reason the extra $ on top of all the tech options I wanted.... and I just couldn't self justify. I did however want more zest than the 4s and had some FOMO on the added power. (Yes, I know I can always tune it later) And ohh yea, I got a great discount on even a NEW build. I live in Va and the roads and weather are pretty good. Barely any snow and we get all 4 seasons really.

Here is the spec: https://porsche-code.com/PTFPWQD5

I'm new to Porsche and ALL the options made it almost too hard to choose. While fun, I was like alright screw it...I'm going to get what I'm going to get.
Sure, maybe some are less important options, but Id rather have and not use (at times) vs. not have at all. Plus my MB has many parallel options that I know to check off.

I don't really need too much feedback on the options, as far as if something isn't worth it or not. Porsche likes it A-la Carte anyway...to each their own right. I just wanted to update you all on the SPEC and soon to be joining the Taycan community. What I do seem stuck on are the wheel choices. I had posted this before, but I can't make up my mind and need a final push. Ok, ok, ok, I know the RS Spiders are probably slightly in the lead and im cool with that. But these others also speak to the soul! I feel confident in the 21's vs the 20's for all the ride vs comfort and efficiency debates.

Last on the list are Wheels, the best at home charger to buy, and if I should go to Atlanta to pick it up or get it shipped here after a thorough video walk around and inspection and hooking up all things Porsche services. I could use my local dealership to carry out any delivery issues that may arise, and save me the 8 hour trip! I think the plane ticket itself nearly matches the delivery costs.

Sorry so long of a post. Im just getting kinda nervous about getting it right. Appreciate the support.
Great config with the Spyder RS wheels. My only comment and suggestion would be to eliminate the Night Vision option. I bought it for my 4S and in my opinion it’s basically worthless, especially considering the $2600 cost. It almost never comes on for me and I live in a semi-rural area with lots of wildlife. Save the money and take your wife out for a luxurious stay at a 4 star hotel for her indulging you with this awesome car!

Another vote for RS Spyders. The other two, my personal opinion worth about nothing, look most like wheels for an electric car and while they give a little better range, the RS Spyders could fit handsomely on an 911 GTS or similar. Our 2027 Taycan GTS will be ordered with the RS Spyders.

But to assist you in your descion making, imagine you are walking out a restaurant‘s front and seeing those three beauties across the large, empty parking lot. Which one of the three you created would you like to drive home in and own?
Ahhh, I see what you did there. You tapped into my grown man classy side with the visualization. I do like to project a stealth professionalism, with a chill appeal, so I get what you are saying. That's why I went with Volcano grey to begin with vs. any more bold color. I didn't think of it like that, I was more thinking about the drive...the others break up and "chop" through the air more, but give off a younger vibe. Quit playing with my emotions!!!

Haha. Really. When I first began my spec over a year ago, before knowing anything, that was a must for me. I have an actual use/ need for it. Along with the massaging seats, those were out have check boxes. I tried to justify that and some more expensive options using guy math...say the VLR by breaking it down. Ok $2600 is only $34 a month over my term or more shockingly $1.12 per day. Let's count the many things we subscribe to or buy for that cost. Boom, it stays. See you throw the wife into it in a lump sum that's why!

Yea mankes sense. It's ~ $750 for non covered shipping or ~$1300 for enclosed shipping from ATL to Southern Va. Hour plane ride in the air for I'll guess no more than $250 or so. I'm not too worried about the Porsche experience for $2k. We have some awesome roads I can take it to down here, unlike some city folk who can't get the same country roads. I should want the 8 hour trio back, but for EV im not sure on the first drive. Guess it all depends on convince for me

Exactly my thoughts. I want to take any first day worries out. Get home and get my settings all dialed in!

That are two different companies who make a temporary protective film, e.g., XPEL’s TracWrap or TrackArmor that you can put on with one other person in about 30 minutes to protect most of ito front-facing surfaces for your ride home. These products are smartly used for folks who track their cars — to protect them. Not visually perfect but to save your paint for your ride home a good option.

Here‘s one DIY YT video; there are ten more to view. If I do PECLA and then drive it 1,000 miles home you can bet I do it before I leave the site.

I hope you did not miss my feedback in Post #14, interested if that changed your mind about any options. Looks like I talked you out of the ATL pickup.

Speaking of dialed in, and your prep for the home EVSE, this is my self-proclaimed best EVSE setup you can possibly have with a picture of it and the garage layout.

The biggest benefit is that it is right next to the panel with shortest and invisible copper (cheapest and I do not even know it is there), direct wire (max speed with no sockets to overheat), and reaches all 3 cars if needed with Macan EV helping with the port being on the rear. I only have a Taycan with Macan EV on order.

Porsche Taycan Freeze date in 2 weeks. Here is the spec update 1772760898439-wy

This is the layout of the garage where the orange arrow is the EVSE in the picture. The cord is 25ft so it is good enough in my layout to reach to all 3 cars.
