I noticed with mild concern that my preferred shop now has the dreaded UVEye scanner.
I'm sure most of us remember this device from this legendary thread:

I don't know if there is way to opt out of this scanner or not. I get that it creates a "CYA" for the dealership, to prove the car entered their care in a specific condition.
On the plus side, my battery pan is fine.
On the minus side, I am now aware of two VERY minor dings that I never would have noticed except for this scanner...and being OCD about my cars, now I won't be able to un-see them.
One on the door, and one on the hood.
Come on E-Boxster, I need you. I need a reset now that my car is unsightly.
Also this little gem it found on a rim, which I'm hoping is water spots, because I've never curbed it.
If it turns out to be actual little nicks, this pen is great for touching up matte black wheels:
