What's the secret to locking the car using a finger swipe on door handle?

I've been trying it over the last few days and it hasn't been 100% for me, still sometimes takes a couple attempts. Are you guys actively trying to make sure you press the material on the inside of the dimple? I try to use the tip of my finger so it's more "pointy" and thus has a higher chance of actually getting inside the dimple, as opposed to just using the flat part of the finger (ie as if I were giving a fingerprint).
I usually use my thump to press somewhere in the dimple area. you have to apply some (a few gms) of "force" for it to register. More than what you use to touch on iPhone.

I didn't even know that my car had this feature!!! I have been taking the fob out of my pocket and using it to lock the car. So, this AM I touched the dimple and voila!!!! The car locked. The things that you learn on this forum!!! I am guessing that the representative at the dealership showed the feature to me along with all of the other things/features that the car has but it just went over my head.?
I'm sure it feels like a new car now :)

I think you're overthinking this. Try just lightly touching the dimple with the tip of your finger.

I'm overthinking it cuz I've tried many variations of touching the dimple with varying results :) Trying to figure out what magic makes it work 100%.

It works about 60-70% of the time for me. It's annoying as I also came from a Tesla and walking away is super simple. I know they could do this as it knows when you are there and presents the handles. Oh well.

I've contacted Porsche NA, and this is their recommended procedure:

When you exit the car DO NOT shut the door. Leave it open and walk backwards, away from the car for 50 ft. Then turn and continue 'silly walking' away from the car until you reach exactly 100 ft. See Monte Python video for reference:

Begin walking towards the car and use a duck call every three steps and place your hands against your side and flap your elbows. If you can squat and jump while doing this - even better. Once you reach the car, shut the door, hold the key above your head with your left hand, touch and maintain contact with the rear door handle with your right foot, and with your right hand, trace out the window trim on the drivers side door while singing all the lyrics to "Don't worry, be happy" . When you've finished the trace, with key and right foot still in position, call out for someone to help you. When they come, show them the slight indent on the driver's door handle and ask them to press it, but to wait until you give the OK. Place the key on the roof of the car and run as fast as you can away from the car and when you've reached a safe distance, shout "OK - press it!" If your car isn't stolen and they haven't run away themselves, you can thank the person that risked their life for you.

Porsche has said they have a simpler OTA update in the works...:whew:

I don’t have a duck call. Can I substitute a real duck? I don’t have one of those either. I’m just exploring my options. Sorry if this can be looked up in GTK.
