Hey everyone,

We recently completed a full Turbo GT-style facelift conversion (9J1 → 9J2) on our 2022 Taycan RWD, and wanted to share the results.
This is one of the newer kits on the market, and we’ve already installed it on our own project car to properly test fitment, alignment, and overall finish.
We’ll continue updating this thread with our actual project photos and detailed shots as we go 👀

Post-install observations:
  • Fitment came out better than expected for a new kit
  • Panel gaps can be aligned very close to OEM with proper install
  • Front + rear design matches the newer Taycan 9J2 / Turbo GT styling well
  • No need to change headlights — fully compatible with factory 9J1 headlights

Overall, the biggest difference is the presence — the car looks much closer to a newer Turbo / Turbo S / GT spec in person.

We’ll keep updating this thread with:
  • detailed fitment photos
  • close-ups (panel gaps, edges, alignment)
  • before vs after

If anyone wants to see specific areas or has questions about fitment/installation, let me know — happy to check directly on the car 👍
Also curious —
would you go full facelift like this, or keep the original 9J1 look?

For those interested, this is the exact Taycan 9J1 to 9J2 Turbo GT style body kit we installed on this car:

Good job.

It doesn't look nice as I thought it would look. Maybe it's this specific kit.

Thanks 👍

I think part of it is the color — white doesn’t come across as aggressive as the OEM purple spec.

If you want to see any specific angles or details, let me know — happy to share.
Will post a video later as well.

Nice to see J1.2 body conversion kits available now. Looks good IMO. Is this a DIY install or will a shop be needed?

to be honest, it looks better than a normal j1.2 because of the j1.1 headlights. Surprised with how well it fits around the headlights... if anything that inner plastic trim has less gaps than my OEM j1.1

The only parts from it that I would put on my car would be the the plastic side skirts front/back, but I heard they collect stones like there's no tomorrow

Still nobody makes a rear bumper that replaces that bullshit black plastic radiator wannabe part... Worst design piece in any porsche car, not even close. And they are fking plastering it on all of their EVs for some reason 🤮

The best bit of this is that it brings back the J1.1 headlight style.

Great work!

I'd like to see some software conversions. Where you able to change any of the settings in the PCM?

I don't get it.
Why would someone want that horrendous J1.2 front and rear bumper on their J1.1?
Besides, you can buy the original oem Turbo GT front and rear splitter/spoiler from the dealer and plastic parts aren't that expensive.
The fitting is just easy with a few minor tweakings.
Here's a guy that did exactly that without loosing the stunning looks of the gen 1.
Here's the post on our Taycan group on Facebook.

personally, I can't tell much of a difference between my GTS front bumper and that other than the splitter which I'd rather not have since I drive on dirt and dirty roads which means the overhangs on the sides will always be dirty and a car wash won't do a great job getting in there.

Besides, IMO most hot girls won't be able to tell the difference, and I'm willing to admit no car other than a Bugatti will make ME look hot

I'm on team J1.1!

It’s actually DIY-friendly 👍

From our workshop experience, most of the parts are plug-and-install — no complex wiring or coding needed.

The only part you’ll likely need a shop for is paint/finishing, unless you already have pre-painted parts. Other than that, a competent DIY install is definitely doable.

This one is purely a body kit upgrade — no software or PCM coding involved 👍
We didn’t change any settings in the PCM at all. It’s all physical parts (fitment + paint), nothing electronic.
