Week 2 : Electrical System Fault- park safely

The good news is that the problem was diagnosed fairly quickly. The bad news is that, as suspected, the issue is with the HV battery. "Faulty cell in the HV battery" is what I'm told. They will replace the entire HV battery. I'm told it will take 6-8 weeks to get the battery and then do the...

Week 2 : Electrical System Fault- park safely

I tend to agree with you. The most recent update I got was more nuanced: the 12v battery was being drained and needs to be replaced, but they also have a ticket open with Porsche to figure out what was causing it to be drained and the red error to occur. So I suspect replacing the 12v is not...

Week 2 : Electrical System Fault- park safely

This is essentially what happened to me, although parked for 1 week, not 3. I'm told it's an issue with the 12v battery and my dealer feels fairly confident that is the issue. I should have a firm answer and hopefully the car back today. Will update....

Electrical System Fault Poll Part I

Same. Towed to Porsche. They can't replicate problem. Everything works perfectly for them. They deliver it back to my house. I go to start the car this morning. Bricked again :headbang:

Week 2 : Electrical System Fault- park safely

I think I was one of these people. Car was bricked Friday. Towed to Porsche dealer. They couldn't replicate the issue and it worked perfectly for them every time they tested or charged it. The work order says "found inactive faults in the high voltage charge unit. Found faults would not...

Status of traded FBM Taycan 4 CT

Not exhibiting per se, but my Vantage is in my buddy's display so I have an exhibitor pass.

@fgwinn your car is at the PA Auto Show. I asked and she said she misses you.

Electrical system error. Park vehicle in a safe place.

Keep us updated on what they find, if anything. I had to have my taken to the dealer on Friday. It didn't reset. Haven't heard back with a diagnosis yet.

Electrical system error. Park vehicle in a safe place.

Had the same thing happen to me this morning. Car was in the garage though and I had to get the kids to school. Locked the doors, left the Taycan, and took the kids in the truck. Hoping that when I get home at lunch the error is gone and we're back to normal. Let us know what the dealer...

New “My Porsche” app (6.0) released

The different deviations on the rear tires are most likely because they were set differently in the system. You can set in the PCM what the "correct" pressure is for all 4 tires and then the app and PCM show the deviation from that "correct" pressure. So if you have the left rear "correct"...

Opinions about wheel and brake color on GTS + Mission-E's

This is the correct opinion with Gentian: satin wheels, yellow calipers. If you don't want to go with the correct opinion, choose what you like best, that's all that matters ;)

Display time in upper right corner of the PCM?

The 3 dots was the first thing I tried. No option there. HOWEVER, leave it to my 12 year old daughter to figure it out on the way to school this morning. You tap the temperature or time (depending on which it is displaying) and then you can change it back. Not crazy!

Display time in upper right corner of the PCM?

I've been driving this car daily for 18 months now and I swear the upper right corner of the PCM has ALWAYS showed the time. Today, it's showing me the temperature. Now, I can't be sure it used to show the time, because I don't have any pictures to compare, but muscle memory is telling me that...

    Taycan Insurance Premiums

I pay $936 every 6 months on the TTS. That's with a $500 comp. and $500 collision deductible. That said, allow me to get on my soapbox for a moment: Everyone here has mentioned their comp and collision deductibles and one or two of you mentioned, I assume, your Bodily Injury coverage. I...

    Flat tire. Things to consider.

No. Car in neutral. Can still steer. Only thing you need to know is that the tow hook is in the frunk on the right-hand side. Pop the hook cover off (I used a credit card) and screw in the hook (counter-clockwise for some reason). Easy.

    Flat tire. Things to consider.

I wanted to add to this post with a few other things to consider. I had hit a Philly pothole (more like a sinkhole) on Friday that tore about a 1" gash in the sidewall, so completely unrepairable or able to use the goo kit or a patch kit. I was only about half mile from a gas station when the...

About to pull the trigger on 2020 Turbo, I have a couple questions

    1. It should have Android auto after the update. I had the update on my 2020, but I'm an iPhone guy so although I'm pretty sure it has Android auto, I can't confirm for sure. 2. I have a 2020 TTS and am at about 17,000 miles with 0 issues aside from some of the bugs with the PCM that have...

    Taycan camping

Might want to review this thread: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/sleeping-in-a-porsche-taycan.4612/ Also, you need a Tesla Tap to use a Tesla destination charger in the US. This isn't the case in Europe, which is why you're getting different answers to this question.

Installation time required for recent major PCM update?

I truly believe, based on reading this and various other threads, that it's completely random how long the update takes. I have a MY 2020 and it got completed the day I dropped the car off at the dealer.

[ANNOUNCED] - PMCC tech advisory : charging rate amperage lowered for "normal" usage of the PMCC (rate reduced by half)

I believe this is a Porsche designed cooling sticker. If you wrap it just so around the charging cable, it should alleviate any overheating, allowing you to charge at 40A. Kind of like a computer heatsink, just make of paper and glue....
