Enthusiasts are the same no matter the brand. You can literally purchase every badge from Suncoast and apply it to your car. Taycan Carrera GT4 - whatever you can think of. All from genuine Porsche parts.
Congratulations! My wife is waiting for her e-Tron S Sportback as well! How has the range been? It's the only thing that gives my wife a little pause on the car.
Agreed, but if you have a sufficiently large stopping demand requirement (e.g., from sudden hard braking or from stopping coming down a steep incline), then the physical brakes do take over. If you live in a very hilly area where you're coming to a stop coming downhill (e.g., at a stop sign)...
It's possible if you have a couple of factors in play:
Lots of hilly (esp. downhill) braking
Lots of trips starting at 100% state of charge
Both of those could conceivably contribute to higher brake pad wear.
Crazy thing is that the dealer should be able to do this as well. Very surprised to see them refusing to give you back your deposit. Where are they located?
Other than disabling CarPlay on your phone or deleting it from your device list, nothing that reliably fixes this for everybody works. I personally rearranged the shortcuts at the top of the menu to make sure a simple tap brings me to the source that I prefer.
I personally find the weirdest change is the tone/pitch of the proximity alerts while parking. It appears to be a change to distinguish between the type of alert (front/back vs. left/right), but it was certainly not something that I expected to change.
Just to add to the data pool, my 2020 4S, 20" wheels on summer tires:
Before Update: 85% = 235 mi (average since Sept 2020)
After Update: 85% = 255 mi (since August 2022, clearly fewer data points)
Notes:
I have never seen 255 mi, even once, before the update.
I have not driven the car in <40...
I’m quite gratified to hear that I am not the only one who is not a fan of the Sport Design front! I optioned the Sport Design side skirts, because I do see an improvement there.
If they would like it, why not? It's not especially expensive, and you can get it separately from other options (unlike some of the others). I have it, and it's occasionally handy, which is more than I can say for LKA and Sport Chrono...
Doors are indeed supposed to automatically unlock in the event of a crash. If the crash happens to damage the systems that perform the unlocking, then you are out of luck. Very sad to see the video either way.
Some dealers will insist on disabling a dashcam before taking a car in for service. Here in NY, I’ve had that comment from three different dealers. (Not all Porsche.)
On average, particularly in certain metro areas like San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York, parking spaces and parking lot aisles are slightly narrower in some parts of the country than is typical in Texas and other “roomier” states, which is why those of us in those denser MSAs care so much...
Congratulations! Sounds like you will have two very similar cars soon!
Good luck with #3 (illuminated Porsche logo). We have yet to receive any reports of anyone actually getting this done successfully. Many would like to have it!
