  1. Carplay no steering wheel support? Come on…..

While I understand the frustrations with CarPlay in general, I am not sure what additional functionality you're looking for on the steering wheel other than the voice command button, next track (via diamond button), and volume.
  2. Took one on the Taycan chin today

If you want to paint it, I would just get the Turbo replacement/conversion kit (whatever you want to call it). @DerekS is absolutely correct, paint would be very vulnerable, and the Turbo kit has paint in the right parts of the lip to help keep it looking good longer. I would still PPF the...
  3. Porsche electric sport sound YES/NO?

When I come home, I take a street parallel to my home before rounding the block to my street. This requires me to pass the house behind my house. With Sport Sound on, my wife can hear my car (faintly but unmistakably); she cannot if I don't. Unfortunately, I don't have a db meter.
  4. Took one on the Taycan chin today

I know, right?!? When I first saw it, I thought it might be a mistake and considered buying it and storing it for when I inevitably will need to replace it!
  5. Ferrari sports sound

Maybe this one? BMW i3 Custom Sound
  6. Took one on the Taycan chin today

Very fortunate only to have damage on the lip spoiler. Since you don't have one of the Turbos, the part is not expensive at all (~$250) and the install really isn't time consuming, since you don't have any painted parts. If you choose to upgrade the spoiler to the Turbo, then it gets...
  7. Software Update Cancelled

SOS Module probably needs to be replaced. It was the only thing that failed in my car (2.5 years so far). They got the part, and it took a LONG time for them to get it working.
  8. Taycan Range

I regularly get ~285 miles (3.5 mi/kWh) calculated in my 2020 4S. I have rarely tested the range in the real world, however.
  9. Trying to like CarPlay

I'd say that most people I know who use CarPlay exclusively (it's a lot): Waze and Google Maps navigation (admittedly superior to PCM unless u need charging station battery pre-heating synchronization) Calendar destination automation (with Apple Maps) iMessage notifications and announcements A...
  10. Trying to like CarPlay

It happens frequently on all of my VW-based cars, not so much on my other CarPlay vehicles. There was one post that suggested that setting up an automation on the iPhone will solve it. It hasn't worked for me, however.
  11. Bizarre 'whistleblower' claims “60% of all delivered Taycan have battery issues that caused replacements, damages and fires”

I think that there is a logical and possible angle here: Suppose that in the beginning of production planning, the Porsche engineers (particularly the quality engineers) set a series of benchmark tests for accepting battery components. Early on in the ramp up to production, a huge volume of...
  12. Innodrive worth it?

Based on my experience (and the comments above), I think it's fair to say how much genuinely long distance driving you really do where you would want to engage Innodrive. I have Innodrive on my car, and in the 2.5 years that I have owned the car I have never used it. The car is too much fun to...
  13. New Tequipment for Taycan: rear light bar with glacier ice blue letters.

Agree. I would be very surprised if this bar actually lights up at all. If it does, I would definitely purchase and acquire for my vehicle as well. Please keep us updated.
  14. Does the winter wheel/tire set fit inside the car?

You’re storing the tires at your house, the car is at your house, why wouldn’t you just change the tires yourself? It is shockingly easy. I did it for the first time this year.
  15. Tires: All Season/Winter vs. Summer/Winter

Agreed that if you cannot change, just keep. We did that with my daughter's car. Tires last a long time when you switch them out like this, so you'll be waiting a few years at least.
  16. Tires: All Season/Winter vs. Summer/Winter

If you are going to assume the burden of switching to winter tires, I cannot imagine a reason to use all-season tires for any part of the cycle.
  17. Be honest, how many of you have shredded your bumper on a speed bump or incline?

If I was to look underneath the front spoiler/air dam, I would expect to see some scrapes. But not "wrecked."
  18. Dealer advised this noise was normal?

Over two years of ownership - Never heard that noise.
  19. Wireless iPhone Charging - phone overheats in glove box!

For iPhones, the problem is that their Qi wireless charging compatibility is quite finnicky. As a result, as @Oink correctly notes, you need perfect alignment. I myself purchased a USB-C MagSafe charger that I store in the armrest and can use for charging when I need it.
  20. A comedy and a tragedy - I find this amusing but ultimately disappointing

Because I had an EV before my Taycan, I have never had occasion to use my Porsche EVSE, and now I suppose I'm happy I haven't. Very disappointing indeed.
