It is a mysterious (dealers don't have samples yet) new colour for various trim items on the turbo models. The badge, side sill inserts, front lower lip insert, wheels (varying places), seatbelts and contrasting stitching on the turbo models.

I am trying to figure this out too, suspect the gold aspect only be noticeable in strong / direct light. I’m thinking volcano grey which it looks like it will work well with. No samples at dealers does not help!
I saw those stock photos, looks like a nice dark silver however the 360 view within the configurator makes it look gold. One I need to see in real life, however I don’t think it has arrived on any cars yet.
I was wondering about turbonite, anyone seen it in the flesh, is it more dark silver or gold, hoping the former. I've ordered a Turbo so need to decide to leave it or swap out to gloss black.
I agree this looks like a smart move, 285 rears are still pretty chunky. May also help reduce the inner shoulder wear some have suffered.
I think they look good especially painted in turbonite on the turbo.
This looks normal to me. I used to do the exactly same pre-heat setup as you via timers and the battery is 100% is preheated to 13 degrees C every time using 2-5% of the battery (PB+) in winter when not connected to an EVSE. I stopped using the timers for this reason and just use the phone app...
